taxol/carbo
Hi Amy,
i had 4 or 5 taxol/carbo, then was switched to gemzar/carbo for the rest of
the treatments, which was 4 or 5 total
the tumors became resistent to the taxol, and it stopped working
i am a little worried about a recurrence, and the shortage of some chemo
drugs... i would not be against gemzar again, even though it wiped out
most of my platelets, and hemoglobin...i got used to blood transfusions,
but that was better than the bone pain from taxol... my hair started growing
back shortly after the taxol was stopped -

I had a total of 10 carbo and 6 taxol....4 carbo before surgery and six of each after surgery....presently in remission. -

I did 6 rounds of Taxol/Carboplatin at the highest dosage they can do. I ended up having a very bad reaction to the Carbo during my 6th round of it. They told me if someone does react to it, it's usually the 6th round for some reason. So, if I ever do have to do any more chemo, like some doctors seem to think, I will most likely be put on something different.
