It's GO GO time!
My sweet SIL is here with me and we have been having a great time chatting for 2 days as we are running around from pillar to post. Tonigt I had a lovely dinner and am looking forward to the end of the day when I will get a pedicure. I am NOT looking forward to GOING all day and haging out in the hotel bathroom.
My surgery is not until 3PM on Wednesday, so I know I will be so thirsty (I think it was 100 degrees today here) by the time I check in at 1PM.
Wish me luck as I GO!!!!
hugs all around,
kathleen

Thanks for checking in! You've been on my mind all day.clamryn said:Dear Kathleen
Sorry double post
((((Kathleen))). Big day tomorrow. I feel good about your decision. I ask myself if I would do it in the same situation, and know I would, against the advice of my oncologist and probably even a few members of my family. But the opportunity to cut out all visible cancer?? Wow; that's an opportunity I just couldn't pass up, as someone who has been simply 'containing' my cancer, someone for who a 'stable' path report is the type of news we crack open champaign for since that's as good as it gets for me anymore. But you have the likelihood of walking away from this, with your old dance partner "NED" on your arm!!! Dream of that long sweet waltz tonight!
PS: I had a shot of fentanyl for the 1st time for break-through pain after my radioembolism Friday. I highly recommend it if you are suffering in the days that immediately follow. (((Kathleen)))The pain relief was immediate and had a note of 'bliss' that helps me understand for the 1st time why anyone could get addicted to heroine or other drugs. (I found myself re-living in my mind that "high note of euphoria" when I was in bed that night, similar to the lust I can feel if I have a cheesecake in the refrigerator calling my name. HA!) Dangerously good stuff: fentanyl.0 -
Good luck
Good luck and lots of teal hugs!

Thinking of you
and praying for your quick recovery! You have put on your battle gear ....so go get 'em!! I agree with Linda about the Fentanyl- stay ahead of any discomfort. We'll make sure you (and Linda) get off the pain meds when it's time ..maybe steer you to that piece of cheescake after all. Prayers again for you and our other recent surgical Teal warriors.0 -
Kathleen

I will be in touch. I've been going all day and finally finished. What an ordeal. I think the partial block made it a bit more painful. Boy am i glad it's over!

I'm never sure how much good the prayers of a doubter can do, but I toss them up there anyways since I've benefited from 'answered prayer' more than I deserve in this life. Just know that we will all be thinking of you all day, on vigil as you go through your surgery.
I hope that you are sleeping now and sleep in late tomorrow if they'll let you (HA!). My 12 days of post-radioembolism steroids have turned me into a nocturnal animal. I was surprised how many others are awake and posting on the Boards at this hour. Sad there's so many sleepless, but WOW are the Boards FASTER at this hour! If you're still awake, GET TO SLEEP! (me too!)0 -

Hold on to the light from all those who care.
Facing surgery is always scary. All we can do is hold on to the FACT that the Love that birthed us will bring us through. Challenges there may be, but you are never alone. Through the next days FEEL the love and support coming to you from SO many who truly care and are holding you in their hearts. We'll look forward to hearing from you when you are able. A big hug, Carolyn0 -
