Need Positive Thoughts...
For the past week, I have been having pain in my left hip. Friday it got real bad, Saturday about 3:00 a.m. the pain was so bad it woke me from a sound sleep, I could barely move my left leg. We went to ER later that morning, all they did was take x-rays and said that though they seen a couple of small bone spurs probably…

Going to a concert while doing chemo?
I have a chance to go see Def Leppard, Poison and Cheap Trick (I loved the 80's!) July 21st...it is my OFF week for chemo , Folfox plus Avastin. I am afraid to do anything too much fun during all this. Not sure why? Anyway, I quess my question is, has anyone gone out to a concert while chemo is radiating through their…

Radiation complications
Hey y'all...I'm having an issue with healing. I had a colostomy and an ileostomy (at the same time). June of 08, the doctors reversed the colostomy but where they did the reconnection, it isn't healing like it should. The doctors say that it's from the radiation and the scar tissue. The plan is to reverse the ileostomy but…

Hit the 5 year mark!
At my last onc appointment, I heard the words I have been hoping for: still No Evidence of Disease and CURED from this episode. I was diagnosed on my baseline colonscopy in '03, stage 3, 6 months of 5 FU and leuco, some bumps in the road with side effects, but no recurrance or mets. I found this site just before my chemo,…

Has your mind changed about MJ?
I was wondering if anyone elses mind had changed about this whole Michael Jackson death thing. I was very surprised by my reaction to watching the Michael Jackson memorial service. I didn't plan to watch it...it was just my day off, early in the morning, and I watched it. I was impressed by his lyrical ability, which I had…

At least in between treatments the feelings went away, I know towards the end it stayed longer, but now, the tips are sort of numb in a wierd way, i am getting worse aches and cramps in them, and…

Reassurance
A couple of people have posted pleas for reassurance in the last few days. I've been there. I understand. I will be forever grateful to people on this site who answered my questions, calmed my fears about my husband's illness, and welcomed me as a "member of the family" although I'm only the caregiver. For those who need…

Is chemo really worth it if it runs your body down?
Bear with me, I am having one of those frustrating days were I feel like I can't get ahead. I got my blood levels tested yesterday and my WBC and platelets are really low. So low they are going to decrease my Oxy a bit. The more I read about chemo and the side effects I start to panic. I want this cancer to be gone forever…

Keeping you in prayer. Pray each new day brings more healing. Just remember there are others as well as myself, who are keeping you in their thoughts and prayers. Encouraging to see how you can still offer support to others on a regular basis. Thanks for being a blessing:)Take care, Mannie

Hello everyone! This question is about my boyfriend, David. Delaying Chemo Treatments
I called the technician who took my blood yesterday and my platelet count was only 79. Last week on chemo day it was 102 and they had to call the doctor for a "GO ahead". Does anyone know when they won't do the chemo. I'm just so not wanting to delay my scheduled treatments. Is there anything to boost the immune system by…

Those sneaky Chinese
The Chinese have developed an artificial liver machine that is pretty effective. Depending on the amount of liver failure you may have to stay on it 6-8 hr a day. This is pretty good news. 90% of colon cancer deaths are because of liver failure. Half of those die from liver failure brought on by some type of infection…

What to do it no diagnosis yet, but elevated AMAS?
I didn't really know where else to post this. I have been having many of the symptoms associated with pancreatic or liver cancer but no diagnosis yet. Had cat scans, endoscopic ultrasounds, etc, no smoking guns but some blood tests came back suspect. Plus the weight loss, no appetite and ever present right side, mid-back…

Planting a Tree for LIFE today...
My new Sterling Silver Linden Tree will be here in about an hour. This is my stand...a tree for my new LIFE. Hubby is happy because it will shade our hot, dry yard. To me it symbolizes a move forward. Pictures later when it's all done. It's a big tree...2 1/2 inch trunk and already about 12-15 feet tall (it will eventually…

Anybody have burned lips?
I guess the chemo burned my lips and I have something like a bad sunburn that has turned into a white scab across my lips. I got four of five kinds of lip treatment at the store but I figure you guys might know what would work best. My oncologist said to use "water based" formula. Anybody have a good product? Thanks.
