At my last onc appointment, I heard the words I have been hoping for: still No Evidence of Disease and CURED from this episode.
I was diagnosed on my baseline colonscopy in '03, stage 3, 6 months of 5 FU and leuco, some bumps in the road with side effects, but no recurrance or mets. I found this site just before my chemo, and am forever grateful for the support, info and friendship I found here, particularly in those long and lonely days of treatment.
I was frightened that I would lose this battle like my dad did; I was afraid to hope that I would see my high school age kids grow up. This spring, I saw my son graduate from college; the survivors' lap at our local Relay was overwhelming.
I am saddened by the loss of friends here to this fight, and grateful for the blessing of having beaten this thing. All the best to those in the fight,
Judy

congratulations
Wonderful!!!! Thank you for posting. I LOVE news like this.
I was diagnosed 6+ years ago -- Stage III rectal. I, too, have had some bumps in the road. I'm currently sitting on one of those bumps. But I sure have enjoyed the smooth bits between!
My kids were 10 and 12 when I was diagnosed. My eldest (now 18!) is heading off to college in the fall -- and I am looking forward to his graduation!
Thank you for being such an inspiration. You made my day.
