Need Positive Thoughts...

For the past week, I have been having pain in my left hip. Friday it got real bad, Saturday about 3:00 a.m. the pain was so bad it woke me from a sound sleep, I could barely move my left leg. We went to ER later that morning, all they did was take x-rays and said that though they seen a couple of small bone spurs probably from damage from the radiation, this did not seem to be what was causing my pain. I go back to my Onc on Wednesday to go from there. The ER doctor definately wants me to make sure the cancer has not spread to my bones now.

Please keep positive thoughts and prayers coming my way that they do not find anything like cancer, but can figure out what is causing such pain.

Debbie

    I'm sending positive vibes...
It may not be the same, but....

my left hip, from rads, gives me pain. And, on occasion, will 'fall out' from under me. We did all the tests/scans, and it truly was from the radiation...and my osteoporosis caused from the chemo.

Good thinking to have it checked out! And keep asking, till YOU feel comfortable.

    Hugs, Kathi

Thank you for all of your prayers and positive thoughts.

Kathi, I am really thinking it is from the treatments myself, but I want it all checked out just to make sure. I don't want to take any chances with assumptions when it comes to the C word.

    Thinking of You
So sorry that you are going through this too. It sounds like it could be from the radiation as I have heard that it damages bones and tissues. Good luck with your doctor's appointment and let us know how it goes. Your in my thoughts and prayers.

    Hi, Debbie

I'm with you on this topic.

I had 25 radiation treatments to both my left and right hips, up my rear and up my back.

I have pain in both hips and it is hard to get up from a sitting position. I've got pain in my lower back as well.

That radiation is brutal and we've all certainly paid the price for it in more ways than money.

Good idea to have it checked.

    Good idea...
And, once things have settled, have them do a DEXA scan...bone density...I was 52, and had the bone density of a 82 year old!!! I am now taking Actonel and calcium, and it has improved...

    Me, too...
I have severe hip pain. i was told it's from the chemo. I am allergic to all the drugs that might help, so I have an appt with an acupuncturist. Most night now I can hardly walk...but mornings seem to be ok.

Yes, have it checked, but also know there are many of us with this issue.

    Many hugs, Vicki

As I figured the pain is probably from radiation damage...but during the blood work they did discover my liver count is up. I am not too concerned with this as it runs in my family for liver counts to be high for no apparent reason also my liver count was up when we first started this road, and it cleared up with no problems. I do have to have a scan of the liver, which is being held up with this insurance mess, but we should have our medical cards sometime next week, so we can proceed with that. I am feeling fine though and have no symptoms and also my hip is feeling better.

    My husband had the lower
My husband had the lower back and leg pain after a couple of day's radiation and chemo,we also went to the doctor, the doctor said almost the same thing,it scared me,but since my husband's cea is only 1,I don't think it's the problem. The doctor ordered a MRI,but when we showed up for MRI,they said they can't do it because my husband has the chemo pump, then we will have to wait until my hubby finishes all the treatment, then do MRI.But the pain went away mysteriously after a few days with pain killer. Now it doesn't bother my husband at all.But we will still take the test after chemo is done.Anyway,Debbie, please try not to worry about it too much if the pain is getting released.I know many people have this problem and the doctor can't tell why. Please take care of yourself and keep us updated.Take care and good luck.
