Chemo Brain
Julie,
I was missing so many appointments and showing up on the wrong days/times that I now put every single appointment for anything in my phone with a reminder. My family knows that if it isn't on my phone calendar it won't happen! It makes me feel stupid and feeble minded, but that's the way it is right now. I sometimes think much of it is stress but my husband doesn't agree. Chemo brain is the consensus here.
Think what fun we are at parties...if we arrive at the right house on the right day! LOL

Chemo brain
One good thing about chemo brain, you can watch the same TV show over and over and not remember watching it. That is how bad I am with my chemo brain. My husband, caregiver, has it too, but I'm sure his is from the stress of working almost 12 hours a day and worrying about me. I write everything in two different calendars, tell my kids, and my husband so everybody can remember for me. So far so good. I haven't missed an appointment yet.

I can Relate
Not too long ago I was putting groceries away and remembered getting cucumbers but couldn't find them anywhere. They were on the steps leading upstairs to my bedroom with some papers that needed to go up. How in the heck did they get on the steps? I had to laugh at myself.
You're not alone.

Chemo Brain
Welcome to the chemo brain club! A year after chemo and it still hasn't gotten better. There are so many things written into my calendar or on my phone just so that I can remember. Some days I find myself checking my calendar several times a day, just so I won't forget. My best friend keeps asking me how long I plan on using chemo brain as an excuse! LOL You just have to laugh it off.0 -
The strange part is
that I can remember details of when I last saw a high school friend from about 35 years ago, or the name of an actor in a movie. I can remember details about music or computers too. It's the short term things that I find myself having a tougher time of. Why did I walk into this room, what did I make for dinner, who are YOU people???0 -

I can remember lots of things prior to and after the 70's (laugh), but get to places and have no idea what I was there for. Write notes all the time, forget where I put the notes which does not help, I even forget what I said 2 minutes ago...0
