My first post-Diagnosed with Breast Cancer April 2023
I have been through 3 scares, but this one was the "CHARM" Cancer broke through and not benign. I have peace of mind and not used to reaching out for support whenever I go through medical issues at all. But I promised my Oncologist to reach out to family, colleagues, and here. I am not sure what steps I need to take and…

What songs do you listen to when you just need to let yourself feel everything?
I recently found out that my mom has stage IV breast cancer. Music has always helped me work through my emotions, but I’m having trouble finding songs that apply here. They don’t have to specifically be about cancer. I’m not talking about fight songs, but more so songs about grieving the loss of the life we expected,…

Panic attack during change in radiation machine rotation
I was given no information on how the radiation machine rotated and how many devices it entailed. After 5 days of the same rotation, I had gotten to the point of feeling like I knew how it worked, and felt like I could cope. Bam, the next day , the treatment was done in a reverse order with extra xrays taken, and it scared…

I am so angry
My mama was dx w/ stage 1 preliminary last week, pending this H2R and genetics as her half sibling passed from metastasized ca. Options at hand are lumpectomy w/ radiation vs unilateral mastectomy. Also 5yrs of estrogen blocker. Doesn’t sound so bad but I can get over this dx. My emotions are all over the place. I wish…

I am 75 years old and have been diagnosed with breast cancer recently. I had a lumpectomy and one lymph node removed. Side effects of anastrozole
I have taken anastrozole for seven months with unfortunately multiple side effects. Some I can take in stride, but others are severe. The two that bother me most led me to seek consultations with other doctors. I have not seen these side effects mentioned except as rare ones in couple studies in JAMA, NIH, etc. One is…

Breast Cancer and swollen lymph nodes in neck
I’m new here. I had an abnormal mammogram on March 31st. After Ultrasound and Biopsy I just found out this week (FOUR MONTHS LATER!) that it’s Cancer. I’m having a lumpectomy on August 11th and the plan is radiation afterwards, but I guess the treatment really depends upon what they find. I have been complaining to the…

PALB2, variant p.Y1183
Even though I had ovarian cancer, this gene muation has a higher chance of being associated with breast cancer. In January of 2014, I was informed that I had the PALB2 gene mutaiton, after being diagnoised with stage III Ovarian cancer in October of 2013. This gene mutation partners with the BRCA 2 gene mutation and…

Radiation and fibromyalgia
I am a 47 year old breast cancer survivor. I am in my 6th year of remission. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in my 20’s and dealt with it pretty well for the most part. About halfway through my 6.5 weeks of radiation I started to experience severe, widespread pain. Much like the fibro pain, but kicked up about 1000%. In…

Chemo "routine"?
I had a lumpectomy last week and cancer was found in a lymph node. I assume I'll need chemotherapy now - I was really hoping to get away with a lumpectomy and radiation alone. Well, what do I do now, but sit around and think about chemo? My question is: what did your chemo "routine" look like? If you worked, did you need…

Not the tamoxifen...
A few days ago, I wrote about a problem I was having which I attributed to Tamoxifen. I was WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. Went to my new family doctor. After explaining my painful experiences with muscle cramping on AI's and Tamoxifen, she said she doesn't believe it's the tamoxifen. She took a closer look at my other meds…

Biopsy
Hello all, I am new to this. I had a mammogram on Monday followed by an ultrasound. The Mammogram didn’t show anything but they’re found an intraductal mass of 1.4 cm with the ultrasound on my left breast categorized as birad 4. I am scared. I started reviewing my previous reports and noticed that in 2020 an ultrasound…

It’s been 7 days since biopsy and still waiting for results is this a bad sign ?
Hello, I had a biopsy last Thursday July 20- and I am still waiting for the results. Is this a bad sign ? I read that if they find a malignancy they need to run more tests and that’s why it may take more time . Has anyone experienced a long wait but got a positive result ? I appreciate your help ! Traveling
Every single member of my cancer care team encouraged me/us to NOT cancel our family cruise scheduled next month to celebrate our daughter's 21st birthday. Now that it's just a few weeks away, I have a lot of mixed emotions. I know I can't do lakes, oceans, public pools, hot tubs, saunas, and I have to be careful about sun…

My life has changed, has anyone had this happen?
Had lumpectomy April 27, 2022. I was blessed, margins clear, no lymph node involvement. July 22, 2023 will be a year since my last radiation treatment. I have had PET scans and 3 D mammogram, (hurt like the devil) and surgeon did breast exam. No cancer. I suffer from anxiety and occasional panic attacks. I just want to get…

My wife is pushing me away
She was diagnosed with aggressive stage 2, Her2+, double negative (hormone, which isn’t apparently common) breast cancer, in Jan of ‘23. In the beginning, it was “us” and “our fight”, but has changed. After her 3rd chemo treatment, “Hell Week” was exceptionally brutal. A few days after treatment, admittedly, I was trying…
