Posting this as a newbie asked in another post. Cancer markers are substances produced by cancer that can be detected in blood tests. Common cancer marker tests used for breast cancer are CEA, CA 15-3, and CA 27.29. Cancer markers can not be used for diagnosis as inflammation and other illnesses can cause elevations in…

Word of God 6/29/10
Psalm 55 and 56...My heart is severly pained within me, and the terrors of death have fallen upon me. Fearfullness and treambling have come upon me and horror has overwhelmed me. So I said, "Oh tht I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. Indeed, I would wander far off, and remain in the wilderness. I…

ChemoAngels
A friend of mine (in fact the one who referred me to her breast surgeon) told me about this program. She said it was a wonderful lift to her spirits whenever she heard from her ChemoAngels. It took a while for me to hear back from them, but I just got the notification that my angels have been assigned. If you are…

Biopsy failure!
Well, I went in today for the biopsy of my right breast because of some calcifications. As it turned out, the spots were so far back in the breast that the normal biopsy machine was not able to get to the area. They tried every angle they could until finally they had to call the doctor in and tell him. Now they are saying…

Which post chemo days were the worst?
After first AC on Wed. and doing "okay" Thurs. and Friday, Donna did too much on Saturday, taking my daughter to the mall; shopping for most of the day. Then yesterday; she was miserable all day; felt weak; and couldn't really describe the bad feeling in her body. Is day 4 the worst day? Last night she was saying that she…

HER2 - OR + WHAT ARE YOU????
Does anyone know if this is shown on our pathology report? I got mine out to look to see if it was stated on there, but, I can't find it. Or, is this a separate test? Is this the test you do to see if it is hereditary? Thanks!

Don't Break the Elastic - Today's Humor of the Day
Don't break the elastic! In April, Maya Angelou was interviewed by Oprah on her 70+ birthday. Oprah asked her what she thought of growing older. And, there on television, she said it was 'exciting.' Regarding body changes, she said there were many, occurring every day.....like her breasts. They seem to be in a race to see…

Word for Today 6/28 ..Faith Persevering in Trail
Psalm 40.....I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps, He has put a new song in my mouth....praise to our God; many will see it and fear and will trust in the Lord.…

You know how you hold your breath and hope?
I had a lumpectomy 12/7/09, every now and again it hurts. Not real pain, not a dull ache. In between. Anyone else? I know that it does take a while to heal and rads (33 ended 3/8) expands while scarring tightens, but how long do you feel that intermittent pain? I'm trying to find bras w/o underwire and actually do bra-free…
