Most recently he had 12 liver Mets removed, bile duct…

Update and question (BRAF mutation)
Hello! My son (stage 4, liver Mets, BRAF) had a meeting with oncologist today. I mainly wanted to ask about a possible liver resection. He basically said it will never happen because he has many (small) tumors on both lobes of the liver and because his mutation (BRAF) which is very aggressive, makes surgery not only…

Expected to keep a chemo port for 10 years.
I am so disgusted. I don't even know where to begin. I have been a cancer patient for 15 months already. I have survived 16 chemo treatments, my right breast being surgically removed, 5 lymph nodes removed, 18 radiation treatments. I could only tolerate my chemo port for 3 months. About a week after I got the chemo port, I…

Ovaries removed under duress
Has anyone had a total hysterectomy planned and we decided initially to keep ovaries - then on the operating table the doctor talked me into taking the ovaries so under duress I agreed she could take them but that wasn’t what I wanted and now I’m so sad - I feel so empty and can’t stop crying

Went to doctor for something totally unrelated and just happened to mention how my monthly cycles have been lasting longer than normal. I thought that I may…

Struggles in Survivorship?
Hello, I'm new to this group, though I wish I'd joined years ago. I'd like to first say that I hesitate to post this question given the weight of so many recent posts about currently going through the diagnosis and/or treatment phase. However it is something that I have struggled with greatly and can't be the only one, so…

I had my yearly mammogram. I have a history of breast cancer on both sides of my family. I was called back in a week to come in ASAP to have a diagnostic mammogrgam. This was done yesterday. Hello I am newly diagnosed with breast cancer and have yet to meet with my surgical oncologist. May 1st. I was very disappointed to realize that UCDavis medical center in Sacramento has no breast cancer support of any kind. I was hoping to see other breast cancer patients and waiting rooms and meet new people and join this…

<40 yr old Leiomyomasarcoma Patients
This sucker is hard enough to come by. But most patients seem to be older by the time its found or diagnosed. I'm looking to hear from people who dont fall into the "research study norms" for LMS. I was 31 when my tumor was found. It measured 10cm on a chest CT. It wasn't until after surgery 4 months later that they…

Six years
Although the reformat has rendered this forum a bit of a ghost town, I will fall back on an old pattern and note that yesterday was the sixth anniversary of my colectomy. At that time, with a major blockage, I had no idea if I would survive another day, no less another year. I figured if I could survive ten years, I would…

Hello, my fellow cancer survivors! I want to share this short 2-minute video with every one of this young man's recovery from cancer. He did not have head and neck cancer. 2.5cm mass in kidney -- Ok to wait 6 months for check?
I'm in my 50's. I just had a check with a urologist. They did an x-ray and noticed a 2.5cm mass on one of my kidneys. He didn't seem concerned, and said he wanted to wait 6 months to do a dye check to get more information. If it is something, wouldn't it make more sense to check it sooner than later? Why wait 6 mos? He…
