causes of CA 125 going up, a little frightened
I'm new here and a little scared but was diagnosed in 11/09, had the hysterectomy and radiation. I have been out of chemo since April 2010, had a rise of the CA 125 from my level of 13 to 22, I also now have some lymphedema in my right leg. which was first thought to be left over neuropathy after chemo. I was due for a cat…

Multiple types of cancer and radical hysterectomy side effects
I was diagnosed with endometrial, cervical and uterine cancer. I was told post op that the endometrial spread to my cervix but that the uterine cancer was not connected to that cancer. I was told I had 2 different types of cancer and the uterine cancer was completely separate from the endometrial, is this normal? Also…

Dr. Weil & Dr. Oz
I don't know if anyone watched Dr. Oz last night but he had Dr. Weil on his show. Dr. Weil talked about Astragalus and that it could be used during chemo to limit damage to bone marrow and increase immunity. Just thought I would share this. It would be something you would want to check with your doctor before trying. Check…

Had number 1 chemo for recurrence on Tuesday
Had my first Taxol/Carbo for my recurrence. Really chemo number 7 which I will receive every 3 weeks. My CA 125 went from 1510 two weeks ago to 1740, so I am confident it was time to start the treatment again. I remain asymptomatic. My HGB and WBC look very good, so I should do well again with the treatment. It was a very…

Hello, Has anyone had experience or read anything about treating UPSC with high dose chemo and bone marrow (stem cell) transplant? A friend was telling me that somebody she knows had this for recurrent, metatastic, resistant Ovarian and it worked. I think it's a harsh and horrible treatment but she got through it. I can'…

Hi all, Just wondering how you ladies go about getting enough iron when you are on the low acidity diet (i.e. no meat etc)? My mum and I are both doing the alkaline diet and I was told by a previous cancer patient that their levels dropped so low they had to start eating red meat again - which is very acidic!!! Also as an…

Hi, I was just wondering whether people could tell me what their CA125 was after each chemo round (particularly those with UPSC)? Mums has gone from 10 (pre surgery), 100 (post surgery), 70 (after first chemo), and now 53 (after second chemo). The doctor said it wasn't dropping as fast as he would have liked so I would…

Skincare and Beauty Products
I've been so adamant researching on the foods I put in my mouth and the exercising I put my body thru that I forgot one important area -- SKIN CARE & BEAUTY PRODUCTS. There's so much to know and I've only begun. As we know our skin is our largest organ and absorbs anything applied to it, which then enters the bloodstream.…

I'm back.
Hello all. I first entered these boards last year when I received an all clear on my biopsy. I was in remission until, well, I don't know when, but I am not in remission anymore. So, I'm back. I am really struggling because I miscarried in 2009, which led to my diagnosis. I have been trying to have children with my fiance…

I am posting on both Ovarian and Uterine boards because I am a Warrior Survivor of synchronous primary. I used the search engine but didn't get an list for "Chemo Brain", and I started getting confused going through the posts. I say confused because I am *certain* that there is a post about it somewhere, however, I cannot…

I had a good 3 month follow up check up today!
Friends, I had my 3 month follow up appointment today with my surgeon/oncologist and radiation oncologist. The did exam, and blood tests: CBC, Vitamin D test, and CA125. What Should I Really Expect During Treatment?
Hi, I was diagnosed with UPSC and had my surgery last Friday. Relay for Life Team
I am looking for ideas for my Relay for Life team. There will be several types of cancer represented on our team, so it does not have to be specific to uterine cancer. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate your input! Love and hugs to all my sisters!

Arimidex did not work for me
I took Arimidex 1 mg daily for 7 weeks to see if it would slow the rise of the CA 125 for me. It did not work. My last CA 125 was 645 (9 weeks ago). My CA 125 today was 1510. The gyn/ono feels it is time to start chemo again. I did not have a CAT scan today, but he said he would order one if I wanted it. He did not think…

"Lies, damn lies and statistics"
Pardon the language but that is a quote from Mark Twain (who claimed to be quoting Benjamin Disraeli. At some point I believe that just about everyone on here with USPC was upset with the statistics and had to get past that. I just wanted to point out again the distortion. USPC was only made a separate diagnosis in…
