How many debulkings can a person safely get

I was just wondering how many times a person can be debulked without running into problems. I've been on chemo constantly since last October and the tumors seem to always show a little growth. I have one on the outside of my colon which so far is still on the outside, as I had a colonoscopy. I'm going for another CT scan next week and told my oncologist if this chemo isn't working, then I'm going to have to consider other alternatives besides being just on chemo, which is surgery to remove the tumor on my colon and possible debulking of other tumors. He asked me how many debulkings I had & I've had 3, but I know people who have many, many surgeries one person had as much as 8, and I was just wondering if anyone else on this discussion group has had multiple debulkings. There just comes a time when a person says "enough is enough" and takes matters in their own hands.
Anyway, any info you can give me will be appreciated.
Thanks.
