Radiation for ovarian cancer
Has anyone had good results with radiation for ovarian cancer? Just finished 6 rounds of topotecan. Counts are climbing. I have two lymph nodes that are growing, probably about 6 that are stable but still there and CT scan shows a small amount of asicites (which probably scares me the most). Onc says while they don't…

I finished my 1st reoccurence treatment with gemzR and carbo about five weeks ago. My CA125 normalized to 7. This week I started the niraparib/placebo trial. It is of course a double blinded study, so i don't know if I am taking the drug. If anyone has any info to share about the parp inhibitors, I would appreciate it. Kim

What if my new doctor hates me?
I posted what's below on my Caring Bridge blog a few days ago, so some of you may already have seen it. But I was just wondering if anyone else found themselves in a situation where a doctor was apparently alienated. Does it matter? I don't have ovarian cancer, but this same doctor I've described below once told me I…

Three month scans show continued disease progression
My OVCA continues to progress. I'm dealing with both lung and liver mets. However, my dr. said he has three more drugs to try. He said if those don't work, maybe by then something else will come along. I will see a urologist on November 7. He said I will most likely have a stent put into one of my kidneys as one is not…

2 time survivor
I've been away from this board for far too long. My name is Leesa and I'm a two time survivor. I was diagnosed at stage 3c in January 2010 and rediagnosed stage 4 after brain mets in 2011. I'm still going strong. Don't ever give up hope, I think my survival is partially due to a refusal to acknowledge the effects of the…

Cancer triggers
This subject is a particular interest to me. I am utterly convinced that unrelated factors which happened to me triggered off my cancer. Many of you will know me on here. I have PPC. 1. I'm 38 and have an 8 cm complex cyst in my left ovary. I'm having surgery next week to remove it, by a gyn. However, he called today to say my AC 125 came back as 74 - which apparently is slightly high. So now he wants to remove the whole ovary while trying to keep the cyst intact, and then send it all to the pathologist…

Hi Ladies, Do any of you have kidney stents? I am scheduled to see a urologist on November 7. Most likely I will have one placed in my right kidney. Scans from two weeks ago show that I have developed mild hydronnephoris. My oncologist is nearly certain that a stent should take care of the problem. As usual, I'm getting…

Blood work normal, but.....
Hi all - I am very new to this board (just started lurking last week) and wondered about how significant blood work was with regard to diagnosing cancer.
