Hi all, Just got back from chemo training and it was just great! Learned so much and I'm alot more comfortable about starting treatment. I got to see the Mediport that will be implanted and learned all about it. Looks like a purple beetle bug with a long tail. It will go in the left side of my chest...not the right side.…

Tomorrow morning
Bright and early I am off to the hospital for my Pet/ct. I am sure that all will work out, no mix ups like Tuesday. It really is a mixture of emotions for me. I don't want them to find any cancer, but at the same time, I do want them to have the answers to my symptoms. Not knowing is impossible. All of my symptoms are so…

Hi all, What a morning! Went to my cancer doctor this morning and she felt a new lump on the right side of my groin. She also said the tumors in my neck have gotten larger and the lymph nodes under each arm feel swollen. I asked if she wanted to do a ct-scan to confirm and she said it wasn't needed...she could feel the…

Lingering chemo effects
My apologies if this has been addressed in a previous thread. I did a quick search but didn't see answers to my specific question. My 46yo husband just finished up 12 rounds of ABVD on June 30. By way of background, he was diagnosed with Stage IIB Hodgkin's at the end of December (right before Christmas). He began chemo…

Pet/ct update
Hi All, Today was the day of my scan. But, it did not happen. Was at the hospital for 2 hours trying to sort out a mix up. There was a mixup with the orders from the Dr. The ct part of the scan was to be with contrast, but it was not written correctly in the orders. So now I have to go back on Thursday and do this again.…

This made me smile. Last night when the cake was baking, my daughter sent us a text message. She was out to dinner with my son in law and 13 year old grandson. The granddaughters stayed home. They wanted a quiet meal. So they went to this little Japanese sushi restaurant. They were sitting at the sushi bar enjoying their…

2 different cancers ???
Still waiting for the pet/ct. Should be early next week. My pcp is now on board with thinking that symptoms look like lymphoma. I have received some blood results. My tumor marker for thyroid ca is elevated. So, this most likely means that I have some thyroid ca cells somewhere inside me. I have no thyroid and have had…

Upcoming CT Scan
Well I'm 5 1/2 months out of chemo, RCHOP, and 4 1/2 months since my last scan. My Onc wanted to wait until Sept to do my next scan. I wasn't comfortable waiting that long so I'm having my CTs this Friday. So now I'm getting nervous and wondering why I do this to my self. Last time we went 6 months I had my recurrance so…
