calm
Hi, I know how that feel's, this is my second go around with cancer, you got to control the things you can in your life, family, friends, any hobbies you may have,it's easier said then done, but you got to be upbeat, don't let it get you down, remember you may have cancer but cancer does not have you! Good luck with your scans.... Vinny0 -

Vinny,
Thanks for the kind words. I have been trying to keep busy this week. Quilting/sewing and spending time with the grandkids. I was thinking of baking an angel food cake today. After reading about your creme brulee, I think we will have cake tonight... Lisha0 -

Tuesday is good!
Hi Lisha,
Tuesday is not so far away, even though it seems like an eternity in your mind. I spent sooooo many weekends waiting for a test to be done the following week. The weekend just never seemed to end! Then I'd get the test done and end up spending the next weekend waiting to go in the following week to hear the results!! I felt like a dog chasing it's tail! Once the tests are ALL done there still may be periods of time where you have to wait.... but... one thing I've learned is that the longer we wait, the smarter we get, especially when we reach out to all of the great people in this group. Stay strong and keep coming back to the group...we know what your feeling and how hard it is. I'm waiting to go in to my doctor on Monday...blood work to be done and a possible CT-scan to see if anything new has shown up. "Watchful waiting" can be very nerve wracking, but I'm learning to deal with it. Hang in there....angel food cake sounds yummy!

Lisha,
We can all relate to the frustration of waiting. I always considered myself a patient person and then I got my diagnosis (May 27th) and I am still waiting to start treatment!! So my new prayer in the morning is to pray very hard for patience. It's helping. Monday I go to my onc and we will finally come up with a plan!!! Looks like treatment will start the following Monday, August 23. I have symptoms which have made the waiting esp. difficult. So what I have learned is that we do have to make it all count, every minute of every hour of every day. I have been learning not to stress about those things we cannot change and to roll with it. I have had some "interesting" experiences during this process ( like reports not being sent to my doc on time, etc. ) and I am getting more and more strength as we go along. I just keep accepting the love and good wishes of people and try my best to stay positive. We can do this!! Take care, do something nice for yourself, and stay in touch with us! Good luck on Tuesday!!0 -

Hi onlytoday...
Good luck to you on Monday. Looks like we will both be seeing our cancer doctor that day. I don't expect to be starting treatment as soon as you, but then.. I never know. Don't know what my blood work will end up revealing, and if she sends me for a new CT-scan I will once again be wondering and thinking how that will come out. Having patience through all of this is definetely a trait I need to work on! At times I get so antsy that I have to stop what I'm doing and just say "calm down Sue, your alive at this very moment, so stop thinking the worst is just around the corner". Sometimes it's very hard to stay in the moment and not mind trip about what might be coming down the road. I too am getting stronger as time passes, and hopefully by the time I do start treatment my mind will be more peaceful. My patience is a work in process every day...ha! Hope you have a happy weekend before your trip to the doc on Monday. Best wishes to you and all!

Sue,
Good luck to you as well! It is such a difficult thing to go through but like you I find such comfort from this sight. There is nothing like chatting with people who have walked in your shoes! We'll have to catch up on Monday night and see where we both are! My name is Donna btw.0
