Unremarkable

THE KIDNEY IS OUT
John went today to have the right kidney removed. We knew they were going to be taking the kidney, nodes, and adrenal, but there was a question as to whether the liver or colon were affected. We were told 4 hours good time for no complications, six hours if they had to resect any of the liver or colon. Just over three…

I am a 31 year old female. In July, 2015, I incidentally found out I had a mass in my kidney from an ultrasound in the ER due to a gallstone. After having my gallbladder removed, my surgeon ordered a CT scan, which confirmed a solid tumor. I was able to find a wonderful urologist who specializes in robotic partial…

Someone should really tell you these kind of things!
So my husband has been on chemo pills for 3 calendar years now. Our insurance out of pocket maximum is $5700 per individual a year. The COPAY for chemo pills is $3000 for a 30 day supply. So we usually pay a month and a 1/2 then they are free for a year. I just found out they have programs that will help you pay for this.…

First scan after starting Votrient
Pet scan result: Stable for now. The lymph node has shrunk from 2.3 cm x 3 cm to 1.8 cm x 2.1 cm, however SUV uptake went from 4.8 to 5.5. The 9 mm node on my right lung has disappeared. The 4 mm node on the left lung has grown to 1.1 but shows minimal SUV uptake (could be inflammatory). There is still lingular infiltrate…

Tomorrow is the big day
I have to be at the hospital at 5;30 am tomorrow morning for hopefully a partial that may turn into a radical because of the location. I'm getting very nervous, which I am sure all of you know about. This is going to be my "new normal". I just need to learn to go with it. Do what needs to be done and get on with it like…

My doctor thinks this is the best one to start with because the nodulars are very small. I am afraid…

Where to eat lunch in Florida
A group of guys, all age 50 and Kidney Cancer Survivors, discussed where they should meet for lunch. Finally it was agreed that they would meet at Hooters, because the waitresses had big breasts and wore short shorts. Ten years later, at age 60, the friends once again discussed where they should meet for lunch. Finally it…

Almost afraid to mention this...

I had an MRI on my liver last week as recommended by the radiologist who found a 3mm focus of low density in the right side lobe near the dome of the liver during my 1-year follow up CT scans in december.
