It has been a while since I have been on this site. I see we have several newbies and I offer my welcome to all. To the rest of the group, HI!

In February I had my third major back surgery in three years. This was by far the most complex and the hardest to recover from. I am getting there but it is slow going.  That, combined with the pain and numbness I was left with following my cryoablation in October for the kidney cancer, well I am just not doing so great.  I , however, will not give up!

Anyway, I have missed you all and hope to be able to stay in touch.

On another personal note, I will ask for prayers for my beloved sister, Carol, who lives in New Orleans She has suffered all of her life with a congential lung disease and now, she is 77, it seems that she is not able to snap back from her terrible relapses. I am so worried about her.

I send my love and caring thoughts to all of you and wish you the best there is.

Nancy

    Hi Nancy

I will keep you and Carol in my daily prayers.  I could use a few prayers myself, been too anxiety ridden to reach out there.  Had a smashgram (mammogram) the other day and need to go back this wednesday for more views, ultrasound and possible biopsy.  Scared out of my mind right now.  I know that no matter what, I will keep putting one foot in front of the other but gosh darn it, I'm so fearful!  Life has been full of trials and tribulations for us lately.....desparately need some good news.  (won't bore you with the details cause we all have our basket full of stuff right?)

    Thank you,

    Hugs,

    Donna~

    Update....

There is a God and He must have heard the prayers.  I am happy to say that today the extra booby tests came back ok and I'm good for another year with that.  Talk about a scary time, geez Louise.  Sorry, I didn't post sooner but I also have jury duty this week!  It's been a welcome departure away from the home.....we have my handicapped sister-in-law living with us temporarily and it's stressing me out so bad I feel like I'm losing my mind.  Can't remember EVER crying as much as I have been lately.  No escape.

there is no escape. We endure and find out alot of good things about ourselves. We learn that we are tough and can tolerate challenging treatments. Our value system focuses on appreciating life for all that we have. We prioritize and don't sweat the petty things. The emotional roller coaster takes plenty of turns that we must deal with head on without delay. Donna be proud of yourself. You are being tested. We do this together and our Karma expands with every communication we share. Remember tht we are living with cancer. Not dying from cancer.

    Thank you Foxhd

You are such a wise man.

Although, me and roller coasters have never been a great combination, can't deal with motion like that.

So good to wake up to good

So good to wake up to good news. Very happy for you Donna and so glad the boobies are fine. But yes, stress is so hats to take from all these tests. I always tell my docs that the stress will get me before anything else. And then to hit you with jury duty, will, that's just plain wrong, lol. Sorry you cried so much lately but hopefully it'll be smiles from here on. Fox is wise indeed and when I grow up (emotionally that is, Otherwise I'm plenty old) I want to be just like him.

    not so wise

thanks for the compliment. But I'm not so wise. I'm just 5 years of ongoing crap. I've learned from both the obviously bright and the scared sh!tless. I've been complimented and ridiculed. I remember members who were so distraught a suicide watch was in order. Their anguish so thick you could feel it in their posts. Thank god I've never been that afraid. At one time our Gallows humor nearly drove a couple people insane. Here we were laughing at our misfortune while a couple others were having breakdowns. We each learn to cope our own way. Some with denial, some becoming encyclopedias of information. My health care career already prepared me for all the terrible things that can happen to good people. My future demise has never been in question. Only the cause would be unknown. Like a game of dodge ball we aim to be the last person standing. I hope when I check out, I do like one putt. Both middle fingers extended with one loud, "Screw You" cancer. Because although related complications may be too much to overcome, 10 to one says it will be cardiac, stroke, or embolus that takes me out. My obit will say, "....a cancer survivor, Fox was the last known renal cell patient as the disease was eliminated in 2016 following the discovery of pizza and beer as an effective genetic mutant inhibitor." Party on dudes.

    Hello again

Well, by the grace of God and all of the wonderful people out there praying for her, sister Carol was discharged from the hospital yesterday. Things are as good as they will probably ever get, but so much better than just a week ago. My sincere thanks to all of you for your kinds thoughts and prayers.

I am doing somewhat better as well. On Wednesday I will receive another ESI in the left hip area where the cryoablation was done for the kidney cancer. I am cautiously hopeful that this is going to provide some relief.  My current mantra is "God is good"!

Sending my best to all of you wonderful and inspirational folks. DO NOT KNOW what I would do without having you on the other end of my Apple!
