Spot open at BIDMC for the Nivolumab + Ipilimumab trial
Well, apparently I flunked entry into the phase one clinical trial. I always thought of myself as an over-achiever but apparently when it comes to growing metastatic cancer, I am an under performer! Yep, after having a MRI of the head, MRI of the abdominal, MRI of the pelvic region, CT of the chest, a Chest x-ray, EKG and…

Ipilimumab
I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about this drug as it pertains to kidney cancer. I was told there was a story about this on the news a few days ago in which there was a claim that it had cured someone of kidney cancer (in addition to very promising results with stage 4 melanoma!). I'm having a hard time finding a…

Nick's Remaining Kidney & Blood Pressure Issues
We had to see a cardiologist about Nick's blood pressure. His BP has not been controlled with either Amlodopine, Felodipine, Ramipril or Losartan although at least with the Losartan there were no side effects. However finally the Oncologist suggested that Nick should see a cardiologist - this was during his 3rd cycle of…

Another hurdle
I am just back from the oncologist after completeing radiation on spine mets and ultrasound of thyroid nodule. I need to have a fine needle biopsy of the thyroid on Monday. Seeking any information on RCC
First a little background on myself. I am a 48 year old male and was diagnosed with stage IV RCC September 2012. I went to the orthopedist in August 2012 because I thought I had injured my shoulder while working on my sons car. The orthopedist said it wasn't an injury and sent me for further test. Dozens of xrays, scans…

Going to the surgeon
I am going to the surgeon today to find out what they are going to do and my aftercare. I was told that I had cancer 1 1/2 weeks ago and had to have radical nephrectomy right away. I'm still a little stunned to say the least, but my family is more devastated than I am. What should I expected to hear today? /
