Next and Maybe Last PET
Hey All, Since the successful treatment of my cancer I haven't come back in here and posted the NED topic. In fact, my doctors and nurses never even heard the term before. My last PET scan was August of last year and it was all fine and dandy. Now, once again my doctor has ordered another one. Here comes the weird part. He…

Got a but kicking last week
I had a very bad reaction to some medication I was taking and all I can say is man it kicked my butt. I though the end was coming it was so bad; I had 104.6 fever and sweating like a wet dog. The bad part was we did not know what was doing it until I thought to myself, none of this started until I started taking this…

Chef Daddy Mike Up-date
I got in touch with Mike and he is doing a lot better, still down and out but at lease he has a roof over his head. Hi brother had an old mobile travel home that he gave him. It needs a lot of work but like he said he’s got nothing better to do right now. He is planning to fix it up and start traveling south trying to pick…

I changed my profile pic. This was taken at my granddaughters wedding last April I found out a week before I had cancer. I never told anyone for some time after. If you look close you can see my swollen node on my neck the first sign I had.

Tumor.. not shrink?
My ENT set me up for surgery, but my Rad/Onc cancelled it. They were afraid since all tests done and mask ready that if the ENT played around up in my nose that I would have to be re-scanned and new mask made. Has anyone ever had a tumor that didn't shrink from Radio/Chemo treatments? I should know next week their plan of…

Doing the Work of God
Sounds somewhat blasphemous to say it, but I really feel that the people on this site are doing the work of God. I was going through a file in one of my desk drawers that had the label "Ministry of Jokes" and came across an old one about a man's faith. Seems this individual lived in an area that had a big storm approaching…

survivorship crisis
I encountered an issue today, and didn't handle it with my usual diplomacy. I was pissed. And shame on me. Another survivor that has been told the outlook is bleak and the end is near, was talking suicide. And assisted suicide to boot. People were telling the person to do it, and saying they couldn't imagine how they would…

Is it bone metastases or side effect?
Hi everyone. Hope all is doing well. Just to recap, I am 6 months post treatment from NPC cancer. However about 2 months ago, I am having this pain on my left pelvis right up to my knee (left leg). The pain often comes and goes and it tends to be worse at night and while laying down. And may be relieved by movement. My…

Ssc now lung cancer?
i finished 40 rads for squamous cell carcinoma base of tongue metastasized to lymph. At a pet scan 1/2 through treatment, original cancer nearly gone, there was some lighting up in the upper lung region but the radiologist and dr weren't worried. It has been 7 weeks since treatment ended. During treatment I was doing well…

Face and Neck Spasms/Charlie Horses
Hey everyone. I had my "checkup" Tues. I am excited I am approaching my 2 yr anniversary for end of treatment and thus moving out of the so called "critical time" my dr gave me, when the most likelihood of recurrence occurs. So, he goes on to tell me nonchalantly that he himself will not "feel better" until I reach the 3…

Celebration To Encourage
Friends, Completed my sixth 5k in about eight months today on my 18 month anniversary of being cancer free. I will enjoy and rejoice in each day I am given. Do all taste buds come back ?
Hi there, Wondering if anybody had all their taste buds come back. I'm hoping it does, I seem to be able to taste most things, some have even changed slightly because it's not 100%. I still have a sore mouth, maybe thrush or mucositis, unsure, being treated for the latter with a medicine not on the market yet, not a big…

Got through the claustrophobia of the mask
My husband is terribly claustrophobic and, even with 2 1/2 Atavan in him, was unable to allow the techs to clip the mask in place the afternoon of the "dry run". We spent the week-end worried that he'd do the same thing on Monday and keep postponing the radiation treatment. If he didn't start radiation, the chemo doctor…
