Is this due to a higher susceptibility…

Just thought I would share this...Blowing up a balloon
No blowing up a balloon is not a big deal to most people. To me it is a very big deal, I am a laryngectomee, a neck breather and have no vocal cords and can't breathe through my nose or hold my breath. I do have a TEP which is a prosthsis in my neck [just under 6mm] that lets me divert air to my throat so I can talk.…

Dad's results after surgery
My dad got his path results back today and stitches taken out after his surgery (modified radical neck dissection) last tuesday. They found the primary tumor- it was in the base of the tongue, as they expected it would be, and they got it all out. I think that's known as "clear margins". It was in more than one lymph node-…

MRI waiting on results
Had an MRI done Friday on the H/N. Had posted I thought I was having issues with medications. We went over all of them, and aren't finding the culprit. Was wondering with other H/N dx's do any of you get pinned down to the table during one of these scans ? Man that was a rough one. Usually get CT's of the area. This is…

Next and Maybe Last PET
Hey All, Since the successful treatment of my cancer I haven't come back in here and posted the NED topic. In fact, my doctors and nurses never even heard the term before. My last PET scan was August of last year and it was all fine and dandy. Now, once again my doctor has ordered another one. Here comes the weird part. He…

Got a but kicking last week
I had a very bad reaction to some medication I was taking and all I can say is man it kicked my butt. I though the end was coming it was so bad; I had 104.6 fever and sweating like a wet dog. The bad part was we did not know what was doing it until I thought to myself, none of this started until I started taking this…

Tumor.. not shrink?
My ENT set me up for surgery, but my Rad/Onc cancelled it. They were afraid since all tests done and mask ready that if the ENT played around up in my nose that I would have to be re-scanned and new mask made. Has anyone ever had a tumor that didn't shrink from Radio/Chemo treatments? I should know next week their plan of…

Doing the Work of God
Sounds somewhat blasphemous to say it, but I really feel that the people on this site are doing the work of God. I was going through a file in one of my desk drawers that had the label "Ministry of Jokes" and came across an old one about a man's faith. Seems this individual lived in an area that had a big storm approaching…
