Looking for information from experience
Hi all, I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in early July, and then from the pre-surgical MRI we found multifocal Invasive Lobular Carcinoma. So, I just had bilateral simple mastectomy on October 2nd, with auxiliary lymph node disection. Thankfully, my lymph nodes were clear, but the margin of one of the tumors…

O.T. Mini get away
we snuck away (without our grandkids-who go on EVERY vacation with us) for 4 days camping in Vt...the leaves were super-great colors. We took a gondola up a ski lift and hiked to the top of Stowe Mtn. Sunny and windy dialy-poured when we got home to NYS-so we times it perfectly. Denise

Pre Calcifications (feedback & comments)
Hi All. Just had my yearly mammo & ultrasound done last Friday. The 3d mammo picked up some small precalcifications in my right breast. I heard the word micro. This was not there a year ago & the doctor said since it is not that close to the surgical scar, they want to have it biopsied especially with my history. Doctor…

I am home!
A late and kind of crazy late night discharge last night - home at 9:30 PM. I am home on TPN/lipids/insulin - all via my port to strengthen me up for my upcoming battle. I see the onc on Thursday and my biopsy should be back then. I now have a fentanyl patch for pain that seems to be keeping me a bit more comfortable.…

Multiple Primary at 50
This summer, I was sent for my usual mammogram, but the doctor added a thyroid ultrasound because of a goiter. Within 3 months, I had been diagnosed with breast cancer (the biopsy showed IDC, but the final pathology showed both IDC and ILC with 3 separate nodules), thyroid cancer (a particularly aggressive type,…

Glowmore I agree with you
Glowmore, I do agree with you about Puffin. She is a great person for coming on discussion board and giving great advice. She always details everything great and even if you are feeling bad she can put a smile on your face also.…

Another Update and a Glimmer of Hope
Everyone's fear with my pancreatic mass has been that this is a new primary cancer. It is rare for breast cancer to metastasize to the pancreas. Primary pancreatic cancer has a poor prognosis (unless caught early) and is treated with higher doses of chemo. Today, I received an email result from the gastroenterology group…

Update - Concerned
Sooooo, I am hoping that I am wasting my time worrying about nothing but...about a year ago my oncologist found me to be woefully anemic. My ferritin (back-up iron) levels were 3. So I had a colonoscopy and and endoscopy to try to find a bleed and nothing was found. My oncologist then gave me 5 iron infusions and sent me…

CANCER IS CURED ???????????
Hello Everyone, hope I can get some answers here, Why do ONCS tell their patients that they are cured from cancer and then put you on a hormonal, or AL drug to keep it from coming back. And then you have to keep going back so often for 5 years or more for test, I have heard that some ONCS are putting their patients that…

Update
Well, I have been having a bit of a rough time. After the stent placements, I went the next am for a laprascopic biopsy. My gut did not take another procedure at all well. Oncotype Score
i was recently diagnosed with Stage 1, ER positive breast cancer. i was diagnosed in 2000 at age 39 with Stage 2 ER positive cancer and had a lumpectomy, chemo, and rads. This is now a new cancer, not a recurrence. I scored 29 on the oncotype scale, which is in the intermediate range, which is still a gray area for chemo.…

Suggestions for Dealing with Leg/Foot Cramps
Probably it has been asked here before, but what do you who have increased leg/foot cramps do or take to alleviate the problem? I have heard magnesium -- if so, does anyone know a dosage? I have also heard tonic water. I have a feeling it is related to my taking tamoxifen. Been on that for two years now, and I think that…

tissue expanders after Double Mastectomy
Just wanted to know if it is normal to feel intense tightness in your chest due to tissue expanders. I just had my DM almost 3 weeks ago. Drains are to be removed in a few days. I am still on pain meds, but lower doses due to the pain/tightness I still feel. Is this normal?
