A LATER OT - Crazy Horse Memorial Volksmarch
I forgot to ask - is anyone doing the Crazy Horse Memorial Volksmarch tomorrow or Sunday? I'll be there tomorrow and hopefully we do get to actually do the 10k from the parking lot up onto the arm and then back down to the parking lot. We have a lot of weather/flooding Watches/Warning so the actual 'walk' may not be…

Tamoxifen & Thickening of the Uterine Lining
Has anyone had to have their uterus scrapped due to thickening of the lining? It appears that Tamoxifen is messing with my uterus. I spoke with my gynecologist today and she is going to schedule for the procedure. Has anyone had this done? If so, what can I expect and how can I prepare? She already told me it's an…

It's official! My 10-year cancer-free record STANDS!!!!
MRI done! The final word on my shoulder is that at some point I must have done some damage. My oncologist has referred me to a PT person that comes highly recommended for 'old injuries'.....she said that unless the pain became unbearable, she would not recommend surgery to remove the fluid lump. Thank you all, my dear…

Scopolamine patch for nausea after surgery
For any of you who have surgery coming up and are worried about nausea after anesthesia, I wanted to suggest asking your surgeon or anesthesiologist about a scopolamine patch -- it worked unbelievably well for me. I had bilateral lumpectomies in 2009, and woke up to wicked nausea from the anesthesia. Before my bilateral…

Cancer Treatment Centers of America
Hi All, I've had a heck of a time finding someone in the Phoenix area who does DIEP reconstruction. There are two med centers who do it. Two docs are at Mayo which my insurance covers only as out of network and I would pay 40% of what Mayo charges out of network people (higher) with no maximum cap on out of pocket…

I also found lumps in my armpit on the non-cancer side. I have had a…

Musings About Birthdays
Soon I celebrate another birthday. I'm not young; but I'm not old. I used to downplay/ignore birthdays and thought of them as no big deal if it was not a year in which I reached some milestone: 18, 21, 30, 40, 50, the other decades, and then senior discount milestones (50, 55, 60, .... A cancer survivor should be thankful…

Hi all, Has anyone here had genetic testing for Lynch Syndrome? Bone Mets only
Hello. I was wondering if there are any women out there who have or are experiencing metastisis STRICTLY to the bones and nowhere else? I'm told that my bc is not curable but treatable. Seeing as I'm ER+ and Her2- my bc is considered a "slow" or "indolent" disease. Many calcifications were noted in my left breast in 2008…

Is this what your Relay for Life is like?
My oncologist's office decided to form a team for Relay for Life this year -- all the doctors, nurses, and administrative staff participated, and they raised over 12 thousand dollars! (She thinks it may be an untreated shoulder injury, and this lump is a sort of pillow my body created to shield the injury)..... Hugs to all, Kathi
