meeting with onocologist
I had my visit with my onocologist the other day and had many questions, one of which was if I was ER/PR neg or positive. She said she didn't know as the pathology report did indicate. I was the one that brought it up and not her. She told me after my radiation that I would be seeing her and she would recommend Tamoxifen.…

i am a triple positive
I dont know if anyone can answer this, but i'm wondering what it means to have both high positve er and pr along with her2 positive. I was told that it isnt good for the er and pr to be high and positive. and the her2 positive means that the cancer is aggressive. Is this true? laura

today's joke
Mother Superior called all the nuns together and said to them, 'I must tell you all something. We have a case of gonorrhea in the convent.' 'Thank God,' said an elderly nun at the back. 'I'm so tired of chardonay.'

Anniversary......
I'm coming on my one year anniversary of being dx'd. July 10. I was so afraid that it would be a difficult day for me, as it has been for others... Dolly the puppy, was supposed to come home on the 10th, and I thought "oh good"! That will make it a happy day! However, things have changed, and Dolly's homecoming will be…

Reading, reading, reading.....
I'm still here and reading all the posts. This is just a wonderful site to get it allll out. I had my liver biopsy on Monday and it wasn't too bad. They used a long needle instead of cutting, so the recovery is going well.I was able to come home yesterday for 2 days and will be heading back to MDA tomorrow. I guess they…

Patient: My hair keeps falling out. What can you give me to keep it in? Doctor: A shoebox. Preventing baldness is simple. Just knot your hair from the inside. =^..^=

Oncologist?
I need input please. My original dx (non-invasive DCIS) was made in Pensacola, FL where I also had a lumpectomy and lymph node removal. After clear margins and clean nodes, I was sent to my oncologists for a treatment plan. One oncologist said everything looked good - all I needed was 6 wks of radiation followed by 5 yrs…

Thanks to all
Thanks to all for the comments about Femera. It is really scary trying to decide what to do realizing the decision you make could determine reoccurrence/no reoccurrence, life or death. My youngest child and only daughter just got engaged with a wedding in May, 2010 and I don't want to have to deal with any of this and…

radiation boosts
Hi everyone, Just got through reading an e-mail from a friend who had rads too. She told me that because she had a mastectomy she was given the option for the rads boosts because it isn't proven to be any better for someone who has had a mstectomey to have them. It also makes the reconstruction harder. She opted out of…

Great results using Visualize Healing Cd's - Surprised my oncologist
I will be posting my healing journey soon. I just wanted to share to other women and men that there's additional tools out there assisting in the healing. I was diagnosed in January 2008 and underwent chemotherapy in February 2008. I had tumors in both breasts and they were palpable. Left breast (4cm -5cm) was called…

Femara & why did I get a period?
Hello....6.5 years post diagnosis. Did 4 rounds of AC then 4 of Taxotere followed by radiation. Five years of Tamoxifen. Bloodwork showed I was postmenopausal. Started Femara about 4 months ago. Then about 10 days ago, breasts got tender and then yesterday....BAM! A full-blown-haven't-had-one-in-6-years period! Has anyone…

No Birth Control Pills Anymore Because of BC :(
My oncologist told me that I can never take birth control pills again. Even though, they have a very low dosage of estrogen and progesterone, he said NO. I was really upset and still am, but, I understand how we don't want any estrogen or progesterone in our bodies, even a little. And, especially since my bc is ER and PR…

My friends-I hate this cancer
First, let me thank you all once again for your loving thoughts and prayers. Yesterday, after I told my mom about my prognosis, I thought everything was "fine" (well, you know what I mean). This AM, I get another text msg from my little brother saying,"Ignore Dad, pls. He's at it again." OMG. I call my brother, as I am…

First Mammogram?
I won't have my first mammogram for a few months yet. I am still too new from surgery, but, they said usually 6 months after surgery you have one done. That seems a little soon to me and I don't even want to think about the pain it will cause. Has anyone waited longer and postponed it? I would like to. Thanks!

Surgery and Caffeine Headaches
You know how you have to fast before surgery? That means NO COFFEE OR CAFFEINE! Every surgery I have ever had has resulted in a severe headache to the point of throwing up due to caffeine deprivation. I ALWAYS have a severe headache before the operation and most often still have it afterward. (Doctors don't seem to realize…

What to expect after PET scan?
Hi...I'm new to the boards. My mom has breast cancer again with evidence of mestasis (?) . We are still unsure of a lot of things. So far she is only taking Femara for treatment. She had a PET scan done last week and we see her oncologist for the results tomorrow. What can we expect at that appointment? I plan on adding…

Is There A Time Frame For Chemo To Be Effective?????
I thought there was a window for chemo to be effective and it was 60 to 90 days after surgery? I am sure that my oncologist told me that before I had surgery, when we were discussing what treatment options might occur, depending on my path report. Gratefully, I didn't have to have chemo. Anyone else hear this time limit…

Nulastin?
I believe that is how you spell it. Any thoughts, suggestions or reactions that you are willing to share... I am told that because my levels are low that there is no way to avoid taking this during my second treatment. Thank you for your time and assistance.

DMC - EMMY * Sending you positive thoughts and hugs *
I just want to say that I am praying for good results for you! I am sorry that you have so much on your plate at this time. It is sad that people, outside of having bc, just don't understand what we have gone thru and still are going thru. Please know that I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers! Lots of hugs, Jeanne

Breast Cancer Newbie
I was just diagnosed with BC on June 12. I immediately went to MDA in Houston and have been through all kinds of tests. It turned out to be stage III-C. I am HER2-negative, ER+/PR-. I'm not quite sure what that means. One of the test showed a spot on my liver and I will have a biopsy done in a couple of days. If it is…
