Redneck wins the lottery
A Redneck buys a ticket and wins the lottery. He goes to Austin to claim it where the man verifies his ticket number. The Redneck says, "I want my $20 million." To which the man replied, "No, sir. It doesn't work that way. We give you a million today, and then you'll get the rest spread out for the next 19 years." The…

It's rainy and chilly in the DC area, so I plan to curl up with my cats and hubby and read my New Yorker magazine (I'm behind…

Hi. I have my radiation consultation next Monday morning and I was wondering what to expect when I meet my radiologist. I've been reading the radiation posts and trying to make sense of it all. Chemo First?
Had all out tests ready to start chemo before surgery. The tumor is under 5 cm. so we are looking at posibly shrinking it for a better outcome on the lumpectoy. BUT doesn't it seem better to have surgery to know exactly what the lymp nodes are up to? The surgeon and oncolgist don't think so, but the plastic surgeon raised…

Hi everyone. Well, after much debating, I decided to pop the Tamoxifen and give it a try (no regrets!). So, I have had three doses and nada! Not one hot flash or night sweat!! When do the side effects happen? Days, weeks, months after you start? Also, I have somewhere stored in my brain, that if I am not having any side…

Saturday Jokes!
BACKWOODS BABY In the back woods of Arkansas, Mr. Stewart's wife went into labor in the middle of the night, and the doctor was called out to assist in the delivery. To keep the nervous father-to-be busy, the doctor handed him a lantern and said, "Here, hold this high so I can see what I'm doing." Soon, a wee baby boy was…

I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. The tumor was found during my yearly mammogram (all have been completely clear before)and I was immediately biopsied...the result was cancer. New to the Websight
I just got on to this websight last night and began reading some of your discussions. I'm so glad I found you, because it's great to have women to talk to that have been there and done that and know what it's all about. I was diagnosed on December 2nd of 2008, had a mastectomy on December 23rd. I've had 8 rounds of…

DO NOT CLICK ON THE THREAD TITLED BREAST CANCER PLEASE - COULD HAVE A VIRUS
Some keep clicking on the flagged posting titled breast cancer and replying to it and it would be best to just let the thread fade away. It could have a virus where you click on it, where it say alzheimer's in blue. So, just avoid it, do not reply to it, and, hopefully a newbie won't click on it with this warning. Just…

This morning my husband and I went out and did something we have never done before- Yard Sale-ing! We found what we were looking for early. We decided to keep shopping just for something to do when we ran across a sign that said "yard sale for the cure" so of course we made our way over to it. When we arrived a woman came…

Met with Oncologist
Hi everyone! I met my oncologist Wednesday for the first time and have definitely learned a lot. I got my tattoo's today!
Just wanted to check in, I had my appt with my onco yesterday to get a more detailed report of my oncotype dx test score, and all went well. My score is a 10, and she said if I was to walk away right now and never look back, I would have about a 20-25% chance of reoccurance either in the same breast or else where in my…

Surgery Went Well
Hello my BC sisters. Surgery was yesterday and sentinel node biopsy says it's not there!!! Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. My doc, of course, is sending all samples out to determine if the next step is chemo or not. While I'm sore, it's not as bad as I thought it would be. No visible bruising yet, drains working…

Two tees
On a golf tour in Ireland, Tiger Woods drives his BMW into a petrol station in a remote part of the Irish countryside. The pump attendant, obviously knows nothing about golf, greets him in a typical Irish manner completely unaware of who the golfing pro is. "Top of the mornin' to yer, sir," says the attendant. Tiger nods a…

Ok I got a question
Okay Sisters this is my concern. My radiation treatments ended in July. I have already gone through the flaky peeling thing, however my nipple and areola is still flaky peely, esp around the nipple. The parts of the area where the nipple and areola meet is almost raw from so much peeling. So my question is this. Is this…
