That sentinal node injection thing....
I asked my surgeon if he puts me to sleep and he said "no" and he said he does it the day before surgery, other than that he didn't say much else. Will you tell me what it was like for you and on a scale of 1 to 10 how much did it hurt? If it comes back where I have no lymph nodes involved does that automatically mean I…

Emotional day
I guess this is part of that emotional roller coaster ride I am on. I had an appointment this morning for my annual routine physical. My family doctor is also my GYN doctor, since I didn't have any female problems. I have been totally fine emotional recently. Very very few "feel sorry for me...cry all day" days. Everyone…

How do you keep up with taking your pills?-
Just wondering how others keep up with being sure they are 'current' with pills? When I started Femara, I got a 10 supply from VA that day and then my 3 month supply came in the mail (gotten more months since). What I do is every Thursday after I take the last one in the bottle is to put 7 more in the bottle so if I forget…

What music inspires your fighting spirit?
I'm putting together a play list of songs that can motivate me and inspire me... ones to rev me up (bring out the figher in me) not ones to soothe (have lots of bath music already). I'm starting to train to fun the Race for a Cure and need songs to listen to while working out and running. Of course, Melissa Ethridge's song…

Song Lyrics
Someone else's thread brought to mind some song lyrics, and although I couldn't find that song, the chain of random thoughts going through my brain brought me to another song. Sometimes it's just one line or one verse of a song that is totally unrelated to anything that helps me through the day. Sometimes sad lyrics;…

The gods (AKA doctors) must be crazy!!!!
My plastic surgeon is a character. A genius surgeon but boy if I dare to flinch when he STABS me in my breast to fill my expanders he looks at my like what is your problem. i had my first fill the the second week of my mastectomy, mind you he didn't think that I needed pain killers only after the first week. Question on expanders
Okay. I'm trying to figure out what to do after chemo. More surgery with reconstruction or radiation. My surgeon really thinks I need mastectomy. Here's my concern. From what I understand, it takes several months for the expanders to "do their thing" before an implant can go in. This really stresses me out since I'm an…

OT: Dog alerted us to ant invasion!
This is off topic of cancer but wanted to share. Our son put the soaker house along the back of the house and we were all sitting in the living room. The dog went to the door like she had to go out and she saw me looking. She jumped at the door. She'd never done that before and I thought she really had to go bad so I…

Why am I being told I need Radiation if I haven;t even had surgery yet?
I am currently on 12 weeks of Taxol (finished 4 rounds of AC) to try and shrink my tumor to hopefully get a lumpectomy. If I haven;t even had surgery yet, why is my onco. telling me I will have 7 weeks of it? Not everyone I have spoken to has had radiation and chemo.

I see the radiation doctor tomorrow for the first time. I finished chemo last Thursday. I really don't know what to expect tomorrow but I know I won't be starting radiation for about a month.
