Tramadol for pain

tramadol
I took tramadol for about 4 months before I had my back surgery for spondylolisthesis with severe stenosis(which fixed me--yeah). The tramadol really did help me more than the hydrocodone. Frankly, that surprised me as I was cynical (and in lots of pain), but the tramadol gave me longer and better coverage. I was nervous that tramadol would make me nauseated as everything makes me nauseated, but that didn't happen. Hope this helps!0 -

I am bumping this thread in hopes of finding someone who has taken Tramadol for pain. I am having to make a decision soon regarding switching to Tramadol, and would like first hand knowledge regarding the drug. Thank you all for your help. Hugs, judy0 -

I took Tramadol for pain with my recent DIEP Flap breast construction surgery. I couldn't take any other narcotic pain meds because they made me nauseous. The side affects I had were headaches and constipation. Of course, it made you a little sleepy, but not like the other narcotic meds. I took Tramadol along with Extra Strength Tylenol.0 -

Sorry I don't know anything about tramadol. Hoping someone helps you out as much as you have helped me, my friend. Hugs, Jean
Thenk you all for your responses. The switch to Tramadol may also allow me to get off of Ativan. Both Hydrocodone and Ativan have been my lifesavers in treating my pain caused from taking Reglan. If I could make the transition easily, and detox quickly from the narcotic, my life would be somewhat easier. Again, thank you all for your concern....now it is time to get serious with my oncologist. Hugs, Judy0 -

I also switched to Tramadol after my bi-lateral. It gave me better pain relief and I liked the fact that it was non-narcotic. It also didn't cause the constipation that narcotic pain relievers did. Good luck to you! Hope it helps.0
