Seeking Radiation Advice
I‘m about to start radiation (5 days per week for 5 weeks) soon on my chest wall and adjacent lymph nodes (no axillary—they’re gone) now that I finished my chemo. I read some older discussion boards on what we need to do for ourselves during radiation (esp. for the skin). I’d love to hear from anyone who recently went…

I Start Radiation Tomorrow (8/1) and Have Questions...
Hello my ladies, I start radiation tomorrow - excited to use my other weapon. I just wanted to know if you worked during rad. And how long it took for your skin to go wild. Lastly, any suggestions on aloe products for skin care, please? I was told to use it everyday to protect my skin from getting burned. Thank you!

Mastectomy form adhesives/glues
Hello -- I've just joined the forum. I have had both mastectomies, one in 1998 and one in 2003. Of course by now I'm fully healed. The subject of this post has to do with my search for comfortable breast forms. I'm hoping to find a way to use foam, microbead, or another light form with an adhesive in a light relatively…

recovering from mastectomy surgery
I had a mastectomy two months ago. They removed the whole breast and some lymph nodes in the armpit area, but did not remove any muscle. I have a long incision from under the armpit extending almost to my breast bone. It still feels sore and tight under the armpit and along the incision. I'm doing exercises every day.…

Any Bra recommendations for radiation?
Hi to All....this is my first post. I've had my strong chemo and lumpectomy. My first radiation is this afternoon. Scheduled for 33. I am full-figured and have always worn an underwire bra. I would like to shop for one without the wire due to what I have read about staying away from them. Has anyone found something that…

Infection in breast after lumpectomy/radiation-update
It appears this isn't very common as I have searched all over the internet and on these boards for older posts and have found very little information. I developed an infection in the breast where I had the lumpectomy about 3 weeks after my radiation was over. First the breast swelled and became purplish red, then I became…

Itching around the butt area and vagina
During my first chemo I experienced terrible itching around the vagina. It lasted about a week and during this time, I used vaseline to help give me some relief. The vaseline was a buffer between my fingers and the itchy skin. I finished with my second chemo a week ago. This time, my itching was inside my butt cheeks and…

The Right Bra
In light of the topics that are on this Board, this one may be trivial. What do you do about bras? I had reconstruction. Although the reconstructed breast is very good, it is not the same as my natural breast and I find that bras do not always fit well. The bras that they make for mastectomy patients leave a lot to be…

Is it ever alright to feel sorry for yourself??
That is my question of the day. Can you ever feel sorry for yourself without fear of reproach? Fear of rejection? Without having people turn away because they just don't want to hear it. And when you try your very hardest to "get over it" because there are others in the world who are worse off, but you can't seem to shake…
