Problem with Port
When I went for my bi-weekly Erbitux infusion yesterday, the nurses couldn't access my port - no flush and no return. I've had a lot of trouble with the port in the past but we've nearly always got it to work eventually. My oncology nurse and her supervisor said that the port was broken and because of its positioning they…

Tumors on the Run!
My trip to Houston last week was not much fun as I still had (and have) a stinking cold and cough. I was so afraid that I was going to have a coughing fit while on the scanner that I took a Lorazepam (anti-anxiety) along with a hefty swig of cough medicine right before, and no, I didn't tell them. The scan showed that the…

Pap Tests\.HPV test
Ihave never had a "suspicous" pap test . Because of my older age, and 3 years of normal pap smears, I had discontinued having Pap tests and, only had a gyn exam every other year. I was considering lengthening the times between those exams. Now, given my a.c. diagnosis, and the fact that I was HPV positive (although the…

Erbitux
I got my second dose of Erbitux Friday and so far so good. I usually react very badly to chemos - mucho diarrhea and vomiting and even heart spasms from 5-FU, so I was a bit apprehensive even though they told me the worst side effect is a rash. I was good for about 10 days then woke up with about five or six of those…

New
Just new at this. Have stage 1 anal cancer, nothing in the lymph nodes. One surgeon suggest i have an colostomy, another suggest I have the tumor remove, 5% chance of it returning. No rad/chemo was suggested. The more I read the more ways there seems to be to deal with the same problem. Feed back would be nice . Thanks…

I just returned home from my follow-up appointment with the kidney specialist. I saw a different doctor this time, as the doctor I saw the first time was not scheduled to be in the office today. Preliminary Update on SIR sphere treatment
Hi All, I just got back from my month-long trip to Europe to visit my family and go on a cruise with my Mum and brother - can't particularly recommend sailing out of Southampton across the Bay of Biscay in December, but hey, I had some great anti-nausea meds! My December CT scan was two weeks earlier than they would…

Update
I survived the prep and colonoscopy. I was only able to drink half of the prep, but guess that was enough. The dr said everything looked fine, however, he said he couldn't go all the way because of "stiffness" and recommended a barium enema in a month. That will have to wait because I've had enough prep and need to put on…
