2nd "Anniversary" Stage 4

Two years ago today, I was diagnosed stage 4 w. mets to node and liver. It has been a long journey, for sure. In addition to dealing with this disease, I face near-daily assault of insurance mistakes and related issues. Finances are always a concern. But it's not all bad, of course. There have been many miracles along the way. I feel blessed each and every day.

I am currently on a second course of chemotherapy. I am doing OK. My weight is OK. I am active. I get outside every day. I walk. The worst parts have to do with chemo brain, plus a rectal ulcer I developed after radiation. I keep the ulcer somewhat under control with gabapentin and celebrex.

I take it day by day. It's the only way. For anyone recently diagnosed with Stage 3 or 4, there's always hope. Sending good vibes to everyone on this forum.

Thank you for the good vibes and words of encouragement. It was recently just a year ago that I too was dx with Stage 4 mets to my lung, and as of today am doing good as well.

I am often conflicted with taking things day by day, yet at the same time keeping an eye on the future! It turns out my years of high school gymnastics paid off as I am pretty good at balancing these challenges now.

The financial concerns, ins. errors, etc. seem part of the package and often do not get the attention needed when in the midst of things. I do wish I had paid closer attention to these matters the first time around, as I have now learned to check and question things more closely.

I am happy to hear that you are managing your current treatment ok, and pray for continued healing.....
