Posting again on the danger of Xofigo treatment
Well, after my husband endured 6 treatments of Xofigo what life he did have at the time went steadily off the cliff. Now, 6 months later, the onocologist is calling it quits. The promise of this wonder drug is a lie. They test your blood before each poison injection, and the bloodwork clearly shows deteriation of the red,…

The first few days, how mobile are you? Do you lay in bed? Sit in a chair and watch TV? Zonked out on pain killers? Thanks, Nick

Comparing Male Slings for Incontinence
I am a mid-sixties male that underwent a prostatectomy approximately ten years ago. I remain cancer free but have required 1-2 pads per day for the urinary incontinence that resulted from this surgery. I did not require radiation or chemotherapy due to early detection. This made me the perfect candidate for male sling…

I'm Still Around
It's been over a year since my last post, so let me reintroduce myself to the new members of the forum. My story is here: https://csn.cancer.org/node/264905. Cyberknife treatment September 2014. Understandably, I'm thrilled to report continued great numbers as of March 2017, at 64yrs: Ultrasensitive PSA less than .1,…

Radiation after Chemo?
Hi! My dad (75) was diagnosed last August PSA 31 up to 92 after biopsy, had spread beyond prostate (bone mets, lymph nodes) began Lupron and Casodex, began Chemo in December and completed 6 rounds of docetaxal in March. Chemo was tough but the chemo and hormone therapy did the trick as his PSA was down to .08ish in April…

Diet after RALP
Since I do not have a prostate anymore, will diet still keep my PSA down? Right now, I'm on a healthy does of Turmeric, brocolli, real pomegranate, among a few other things. I will be having radiation mid to late August, and have read that I do not need to have Lycopene while on radiation. Also, my brother sent me articles…

advice for locally advanced Pca
Hi My father is 71 years old, and recently diagnosed with Pca. PSA = 28, 7/12 core positive (gleason score 4+4) from biopsy, one lymph node enlarged (2cmx3.4cm) and a gross extraprostate extension from MRI. The only good news is no bone or other distant metastasis found (I really hope that is true). Our urologist…

Calutide tablet has reduced my PSA level dramatically….
Dear Sir, I am 45 years old. On February 2017, I checked my PSA level found 6.83 ng/ml and Gleason’s Grade 3+3=6/10 by biopsy test. On April 2017, my doctor suggested me to take Hormone Therapy (3 Zoladex Injection). Already I have taken two injections. He also suggested me to take Calutide tablets 50mg per day without any…

Can Someone Knowledgable Interpret These MRI Results?
Hello, On Wednesday I had surgery but on Monday I had a MRI and just got the results. It's all Greek to me! If someone can distill it down to layman's terms I'd greatly appreciate it. The surgeon, who has done 4000 RPs said it all went well and he felt a firmness on the left side of the prostate. Path lab results come next…

6 week follow up after RALP
Well, I'm better off than I expected. They did take out the SV's. The cancer was outside the margins though and still plan to take radiation to kill remaining cells. Got PSA test and Dr called me on my 3 hour ride home and let me know the PSA was 0.01. Feeling much better. I do not feel that my diet change has resulted in…

New to forum, looking for advice
I am 53, had a TURP last year, discovered Geason 6 cancer, so watch and wait. 8 months later, biopsy showed Gleason 9, so prostatectomy w/ pre PET Scan. Dr told me 10 days after surgery that I will need to go through radiation, due to cancer being in margin walls and in seminal vesicles. Dr removed 34 lymph nodes and all…

Do False-Stable results exist? My latest tests
I would like to inform about my tests of December. The PSA come as 1.28 ng/ml and the Testosterone at 278 ng/dL. In contrast with the previous, the PSA did practically not increase (+0.04) but the Testosterone decreased significantly (-078) and I do not know if the treatment for my case of shingles did affect these…

Am I a Candidate for FLA? Surgery in 3 Days!!
Maybe I'm getting cold feet? I had ruled out radiation because the hormone therapy would be bad for my comorbidities of diabetes and cardiac, so I researched the best doc and hospital in Chicago and on Wednesday I am going in for RP surgery. However, by total coincidence I am going in for a new type of MRI tomorrow: 2…

Lupron is only treatment but is working - blood transfusions
My husband is "et up with it" as stage 4 in bones is affecting the marrow and he needs blood transfusions regularly. Palliative treatments are only option and we only just found out 2 months ago, it's terminal and way beyond any other treatments for the most part. Does anyone have any experience with Lupron or blood…

Cyberknife v. RP
Would value input from those who may have chosen "cyberknife" over radical prostatectomy. I was 2 of 12 cores positive (5% and 15%) and Gleason of 6 (3+3). So...the good docs suggested I think about which treatment plan to follow but to do something in next 90 days. I realize RP removes and could eliminate the worry for…

bowel movement following RP
Had davinci surgery Dec.15. Six week follow-up PSA was .030. Incontinence issue is resolving itself right on track, down to less than 1 pad per day. Almost everything is progressing nicely. Concern: My bowel movements are fine except every two weeks or so they are very "loose" to only clear liquid for 5 or so days. Lots of…

Injections - Do they work - longterm
I've read a number of threads that detail the success of the injections. But what happens after the 10th injection after 4-5 months or so. Must we forsake coffee and beer to fight incontinence?
Preparing for surgery in a couple of weeks. I drink 4 cups of coffee at a 75% decaf ratio and stop at noon. Maybe a beer or two in the evening. Have you guys who went through surgery, and had done your Kegel excercises, found that you had to give up these diuretics? Thanks, Nick
