Prostate cancer is never an emergency
This is from Duffy Myers Prostapedia, October 2017: So then men should definitely ask their urologist how the imaging information might change things before the imaging study is even ordered? Dr. Cooperberg: Absolutely. You should never order any test—imaging or otherwise—that is not going to change your management, not…

How cancer effects me!
I have cancer in my body and my job is to keep it out of my spirit! The shock of cancer can only be understood by those who have it. I have known many who had cancer and felt empathy for them but did not get the gut-wrenching shock until my doctor said, “you have cancer!” My mind went to almost shut down as he talked, and…

Greetings, This seems like a good place to start. March 1 I went to see my new doctor for a physical and update my PSA number. It had been 3 yrs since I had seen a doctor. Historically my psa has been low for my age however during my DRA the doctor felt a nodule on my prostate. That psa was 3.7 with blood detected in my…

Low PSA = no growth in cancer
In the case of my metastasis Prostate cancer and with a PSA of only 0.2 now and taking ZYTIGA. One would think that there is no growth in the tumor's which is in the Lymph Nodes. If that is the case, then why would MD Anderson would want me to do a full CT / bone scan in July. Is it money or is it to check the size of the…

Rising PSA
It's been a couple of years since I last visited this discussion board. I had a davinci RP back in 2010 and subsequent PSA tests have shown a slight rise in my PSA since 2015. For years 2010 through 2014, my PSA was .01, but the last three years it's gone from .04 (2015), .05 (2016) and now it's .07. Is this cause for…

Very High PSA
I have a PSA of 250. 2 of 6 Biopsy probes showed presence of cancer. But my Whole Body Bone Scan and Pelvic Pet Scan show no spread. Organ donor
Just something no one has ever talked to me about. In Indiana we note on our drivers license that we are organ donors in case of accidental death. My dad (age 59) was just diagnosed with hormone-sensitive metastatic prostate cancer. Surgery repaired the vertebrae, and aside from some stiffness, it has healed up with no…

Obviously one option is AS. My URO said men with PC like mine have a 60-70% chance of…
