I went for my second opinion last week at Duke Medical in Durham North Carolina which, from what I understand is a top treatment center for prostate cancer and met with one of the teaching doctors/urology oncologists who has over 20 years experience and does 150 open radical prostectomies per year. I also met…

Leaning cryotherapy
Well, if you dont know my story, I had reoccurrence after five years. I chose radiation with a breakytherapy booster. It seems like it is the same tumor and that the radiation and a breakytherapy unfortunately didn’t kill it all. The doctor I talked to has been at UCSF for over 30 years, and he has been doing the…

Good News
I had a robotic prostatectomy in 2008 at age 59. PSA was 6.0 and Gleason Factor 6. In May 2023, my PSA elevated to 0.20. I went through 38 sessions of radiation at age 74 and completed the treatments in early October. One month later my PSA was 0.01 and I hope it continues to fall. Good luck to all.

Xtandi vs chemo vs clinical trial?
My husband has become castrate resistant on Zytiga according to his oncologist. Grateful we got 3 years out of this medicine but now it's time for plan B. The oncologist says Xtandi has a low chance of working but worth it to try. The other possibility is a clinical trial using Xtandi with a phase 2 medication. There is…

Hi survivors! Greatings from Ukraine! My dad was diagnosed 4 stage prostate cancer with metastases in lymph nodes and pelvic bones 2 months ago. Gleason 4+4.
