Good news
I'm back from the dr in Tampa. He said to me "see you 6 months." We are elated and somewhere in the back of my mind, I kind of felt that would be the case. Nonetheless, we had a couple of weeks of pins and needles, waiting for yesterday's appointment. Dr. said the calcifications had been there all along, even before the…

re. Joys of Lymphedema
Hi...just read your messsage...I just signed on today...so your message seems a bit dated, but hope that you have found some solutions since you posted. My advice is to get to a Physical Therapist who does this for you, then shows you the correct way in which to do the MLD. There are also videos that help. Are you familiar…

Thank you
To all who answered me on the effects of TAXOL, I thank you. It is so helpful to read what others have experienced. I know each person can experience chemo differently but it is still helpful to know what might happen and how it was coped with. I have completed the A/C too.

She also said that this is the time most people have…

Tactics for Well Wishers...
Hi Rizzo15: I don't think there is any right or wrong answer to your question/dilemma. It seems that most of the women I know just handle this, according to their particular style and needs. Maybe just let everyone know that you'll "keep in touch" and they'll get the subtle message that you prefer to ring others when you…

Calcifications
I had a rare small breast cancer removed in August, 2002. The mass was less than 1 cm, the margins were clean, and there was no lympy node involvement. Two weeks ago, I had another three month mammogram, and "suspisious calcifications" were noted. The radiologist told me that there were slight changes from 2002 -- when…

My problem has not been the…

Tamoxifen & Weight Gain
Does anyone or has anyone out there experienced weight gain after being on Tamoxifen? My surgeon repeatedly has stated that there is no connection. I have had steady weight gain and don't know whether to blame it on my metabolism, or a combination of that and having 2 c-sections, a hystectomy and partial mastectomy. I have…

Breast Cancer Stamp
Last week some of us were wondering about the breast cancer stamp. I sent an email to the USPS. This is what they emailed back to me. tactics for well wishers
Rizzo, I know what you mean. You just have to be firm and realize although most people mean well they really have no idea what you are going through. Stick to your guns and let people bother you only as much as you are up to it. You can always reconnect when you're feeling better!

people and phone calls

Calcifications
Hi, everyone. I had a lumpectomy in Nov. 2003. in my left breast. 1.2 cm, ER/PR- negative/ grade 3; stage 1. No nodal involvement; clean margins obtained after reexcision.
