Zen Sarcasm, Part 2...
12. If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything. 13. Some days you're the bug; some days you're the windshield. 14. Everyone seems normal until you get to know them. 15. The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket. 16. A closed mouth gathers no foot. 17. There…

Tests After You Finish Radiation Treatments?
I was just wondering what tests your oncologist or radiation oncologist ordered for you after you finished your radiation treatments. I know they order the mammogram, but, did yours order anything else? Mine did and I was just wondering if that was the norm. Thanks! Hugs, Diane ♥

It Revved me up!!!!!
This past Sunday I attended a breast cancer symposium sponsored by Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago - the place where I was treated. Listening to the oncologists from all disciplines, PhD's specializing in alternative treatments like accupuncture, massage, etc. and learning about new research, I found myself…

The latest from Teena: 1. A week ago Saturday I got up and was going to go mee the "girls" (we're all 65) for breakfast. When I got ready to go out the door I decided that it was THE day I was going to "retire" my denim hat and start going out hatless and show the world my wonderful (very, very short peach fuzz hair). My Oncologist said he would be giving me this Med for anti-nausea. I have read that some of you are receiving a steroid for this. Is this a steroid? I looked it up, but it doesn't specifically say. Cathy

Importance of Social Support
I read an article today (the URL is: http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/165725.php) about social isolation and how it impacts breast cancer. The conclusion is that "social isolation increases the mortality of chronic diseases" and this agrees with "clinical studies revealing that social support improves the outcomes…

Day 26 and 1st Booster of Sue's Rads
Well, this was interesting. Talk about quick, wow, I was done in about 1 minute. I, ofcourse, laid on the metal table and the tech's adjusted me with the sheet under me and they put my warm blanket on me, as always. That room is so cold! But, once they got me adjusted and the zapper was directly over my tumor site, they…

ready to start my down slope to finishing up treatment
Today... I finished #15 or 30 radiation treatments. Hard to believe I'm on my down slope. Radiation isn't too bad (after the nightmare of first day there). I'm exhausted by the end of the day, so should be interesting how it goes when I return to work on Thursday, after being out of work for the last 8 months. So far...…

Gynelocological Care and Tamoxifen
Lots of you are saying that you have just started taking Tamoxifen or will be starting soon. I would like to encourage everyone to have consistent gynecological care before, during and after taking it. It's important for the doctor to have baseline test results and be able to follow you regularly. In 2000, as soon as my…

Is it normal to be utterly exhausted from rads?
I expected the fatigue with everything else over the past 9 months, but didn't really expect it for the radiation. I had number 21 today, leaving 4 more. I can barely stay awake or walk the dog some days - like today. However, sitting around doing computer stuff for hours makes my legs tense up, and I keep getting keyboard…

Zometa round 1, laid me low
This past Friday I went for my first Zometa infusion. I had to have "training" first, to learn about the possible side affects, and what I can do about them. (Zometa is a drug that is used to strengthen bones against the affects of Femara) It seemed to go very well, and I went out of there feeling very good. I'm thinking…
