Thelma and Louise
We watched this movie tonight and I just LOVE IT! Hubby wasn't too enthused, but, he snuggled with me while watching. I wish I knew of more movies like this. I loved the ending! Hubby said he could see me and one of my best girlfriends doing that and you know what? I can too! lol Sue :)

The Oak Tree A mighty wind blew day and night. It stole the Oak tree's leaves away Then snapped its boughs and pulled it's bark Until the Oak was tired and stark But still the Oak tree held its ground While other trees fell all around The weary wind gave up and spoke "How can you be still be standing Oak? The Oak tree said…

Cutting My Hair
I was thinking about cutting my hair before my first Chemo? The Chemo nurse told me that every hair folicle hurt after Chemo. My hair is thick and long about six inches past my shoulders and the idea of having all that hair falling out everywhere is just driving me nuts. I was thinking if I got it cut before it all fell…

Surgery Next Week
Well, two cortisone shots and four weeks of physical theraphy later, the ortho has decided that surgery is the answer for my shoulder. Although still thankful the pain isn't a bone met, I don't look forward to having to be laid up during the first part of the holidays. They think it is just a bone spur ("just"), but will…

Don't Mess With Texas...
There once was a blind man who decided to visit Texas. When he arrived on the plane, he felt the seats and said, "Wow, these seats are big!" The person next to him answered, "Everything is big in Texas." When he finally arrived in Texas, he decided to visit a bar. Upon arriving in the bar, he ordered a beer and got a mug…

heart attack after breast cancer
In July of 2008, I had a heart attack. I am not overweight, have low blood pressure and have no family history or risk factors. In 1987, I had received 2 months of left-sided radiation for breast cancer after mastectomy. I have been reading about the risks (particularly earlier radiation) being associated with heart…

The BEST halloween 'trick' I have ever had!!!!!
We normally get many people outside of our neighborhood that come to the door on this scary night, so I lay in the 'good stuff' for all (thank 99cent only store...lol!) This year, 2 young ladies appeared at the door, and I gave them their chocolate, and my advice to 'be careful crossing the street, it's busy here'. They…

I am currently on Tamoxifen and have been for two years. I am 31 years old. After my second dose of Chemotherapy I stopped having periods and have not had one for two years, until now. My Oncologist and my OB/GYN have both done blood tests and confirmed that I am postmenopausal. My last FSH was 60 and it was 66 the time…

Looking for advice
Hello ladies, I am on the journey into the unknown -- it seems like every day brings new info, and more bad news. Quick snapshot: I am 42 yrs old, no history of breast cancer for 4 generations, both sides. Had my (first EVER) mammogram back in late August. A follow up eliminated a couple of shadows, but found a definite…

So sorry it is surgery, but just think how much better you will feel once the pain is gone. I vote you should get extra Christmas presents this year for having to go through this around the holidays. Tell your family I said so!! Keeping you in my prayers. Hugs and smiles. ♥Pammy

When your hair grows back in
I'm curious. Are there any women out there who have been through chemotherapy and their hair grown back? Did it grow back darker and curly. Before my hair fell out it was straight and light. I've had so many people tell me stories about their "friends" whose hair came back dark and curly. Just wondered if this is a myth.…

Sunday School...
PALM SUNDAY: It was Palm Sunday and, because of a sore throat, five-year-old Johnny stayed home from church with a sitter. When the family returned home, they were carrying several palm brances. The boy asked what they were for. "People held them over Jesus' head as he walked by," "Wouldn't you know it?" the boy fumed.…
