Picture of me and Jake
Picture of me and Jake is on my expressions page. I could not get it to load so it comes up above my screen name. Pammy said she could see the new picture last night but I couldn't and still can't see the new picture above my screen name. Hugs, Margo

Tamoxifen Side Effects
I'm wondering if any of you who are taking Tamoxifen have problems with stomach aches and nausea. I've been on Tamoxifen since the middle of July. I didn't have any problems at first, not even much trouble with hot flashes, but in the past two and a half months on an average of about once every week and a half to two…

Reconstruct or not
Just diaganosised and will go thru a round of chemo before having a double mascetomy. I am 54 years old and wondering if the reconstruction surgery is really worth it?

hairless-all over
I just noticed today that the hair is completely off my legs and arms, my head is now shiny after losing the stubble left from the clippers, the whiskers are off my chin, and no "bikini wax" is needed anytime soon. But my eyebrows and lashes are still hanging on. When do they go? I'm doing the 3rd chemo on the 16th.

Where you at?
We did this about a month ago, but we've welcomed so many newbies to the board since then that I thought it would be nice to find out where all of you are typing from! So...where you at? I'm in Los Angeles (born and raised), in the San Fernando Valley. Traci

All of us have some kind of imput that may have made a difference in our care we recieved from begining to end. This committee is being made up of…

Is Chemo Brain real?
My family and I think my Mom might be having some Chemo Brain symptoms. Not recalling having a conversation, telling the same thing over and over, asking questions she has already asked. I have done tons of research and found out it is possible for some cancer patients to have some of this symptoms but nobody knows the…

Caling all adriamycin gals....
I just saw a cardiologist yesterday for increasing palpitations and heart troubles...sigh... He said "So, how often did you have an echo cardiogram during the period you were infused with adriamycin?" He was horrified with my answer "None". "They should have been monitoring better", he said. (I LOVE this man, very…

taleena ??
Hi taleena, Thanks for your info on the "CYP2D6" test. Since you were a "poor" metabolizer, did they give you any other options? Just wondering? I know it matters if your pre or post menopausal ?? The chemo put me into menopause so I'm not sure what I am. I believe they still wait a year before they change you from…

New Jersey
Was inspired by a couple posts to find out if anyone here lives in good ole Joisey. I live near the shore, about an hour north of Atlantic City. I guess it doesn't ask on our profiles where we're from. I was thinking... wouldn't it be neat to plan something down the road where somehow we could all meet, face to face? I…

Prothesis
Ok, so I was getting dressed this morning and remembered I've been wanting to do this post. I had a radical mastectomy of my left breast without immediate reconstruction. My surgeon felt it would be in my best interest to wait until after radiation. Anyway, I'm getting real tired of 'pinning' in the foam form that I…

Help for AI side effects, maybe...
Although I cannot find a lot of hard data regarding the efficacy of quinine (tonic water)for muscle cramping, I have found a ton of anecdotal info from other bc survivors. Also, I found anecdotal info on the use of cherry juice, daily, for joint pain and swelling. I'm not advocating the use of both these products, but I…

Day After Chemo #1 - How Y'all Doing?
Hey All You First Timers - How did your first Chemo go? Mine went surprisingly well. . .at least so far! I started to have a slight reaction to the Taxotere right at the end - so they slowed it down and diluted it with saline and it went ok. It took about 6 1/2 hours to do the whole thing. No nausea to speak of. . .a…

"CYP2D6" test? (metabolizing tamoxifen test?)
Has anyone had the test to see if they are metabolizing tamoxifen? I had it done over three weeks ago and am still waiting for the results. Does it usually take this long? I've been taking the tamoxifen for a little over a month now and after reading the posts here decided to have the test if my insurance would cover it.…

Guided Visualization & music to assist during Chemo
I am a survivor/thriver and produced an audio CD with guided imagery and instrumental music. After recovery I felt the need to make something useful. Would like to get it into as many ears of women in the process. I was so fearful at first...had to take xanax just to get thru the door for chemo. I used meditations, healing…

Not so brave!
Well it's happening... my hair is starting to shed. Funny story... I told my 11 yr old boy and he said 'oh really?' and he grabbed my hair and took out a BUNCH of strands. He stood holding them in his hand, feeling bad, and said 'hmmmm, well can we put them back in?' It did make me laugh! Only out of the mouth of babes.…

This is the tale of young Freddy Law Whose sexual equipment got trapped in the door, By the time they freed him, He didn't feel well For his private parts were mangled to hell. They rushed him to hospital, the ambulance flew But when they got there there was nought they could do. What a bad blow for Freddy, condemned…

I miss my tastebuds
How I loved to eat, but now, without taste it's just not the same. I just lost my tastebuds a few days ago, until then, I was wondering if I would ever get the side effect everyone else had. Chocolate tastes like wax. Can't taste sweet or salty anything. But I don't have the metal taste in my mouth like some. My appetite…

ROLL CALL: who's ready for the weekend?!
OK, so, something is going on with my hormones. This may be TMI, but I can feel my ovaries slowly cranking back up. The evidence of this is my suddenly brightened mood, as though a veil has been lifted, and the abrupt decline of hot flashes. It's like, it happened in one day. Very weird, but welcome. Sooo, to celebrate:…

To the pimple heads-Pitt, Traci, tgf
I wear a cap liner from tlc wigs. Its not the panty hose cap, but made of a fabric that wicks away your sweat. So far, I don't have the rash and I've been wearing wigs through the day. I got it clearance 2 for $5.99. I'm glad I ordered it.

THREE NUNS WERE ATTENDING A CUBS BASEBALL GAME.. THREE MEN WERE SITTING DIRECTLY BEHIND.. High grade DCIS with Micro invasion -- ER/PR negative // Her2 position // 2nd opinion rec'd @St. Jos
It's worst than we first thought. Met with Dr. Harness this a.m. at 8:00 a.m., my appointment lasted until 10:30 A.M. Dr. Harness not happy with the site of my lumpectomy, or the deformation of my left breast. size of tumor removed: 10.0 x 7.0 x 4.0 cm. Dr. H refused to discuss, but asked for my general surgeon's name and…

Has everyone had their breakfast yet?
I thought it would be interesting to hear what everyone ate when they didn't know they'd have to tell. You know like those 'come as you are' parties. The 'no taste' post got me thinking. I thought of what I'd like to taste. So yell at me if you will but here is my breakfast: Dr Pepper and 2 Sno Balls. :-O So what did y'all…
