Guided Visualization & music to assist during Chemo
I am a survivor/thriver and produced an audio CD with guided imagery and instrumental music. After recovery I felt the need to make something useful. Would like to get it into as many ears of women in the process. I was so fearful at first...had to take xanax just to get thru the door for chemo. I used meditations, healing…

Not so brave!
Well it's happening... my hair is starting to shed. Funny story... I told my 11 yr old boy and he said 'oh really?' and he grabbed my hair and took out a BUNCH of strands. He stood holding them in his hand, feeling bad, and said 'hmmmm, well can we put them back in?' It did make me laugh! Only out of the mouth of babes.…

They rushed him to hospital, the ambulance flew But when they got there there was nought they could do. What a bad blow for Freddy, condemned…

I miss my tastebuds
How I loved to eat, but now, without taste it's just not the same. I just lost my tastebuds a few days ago, until then, I was wondering if I would ever get the side effect everyone else had. Chocolate tastes like wax. Can't taste sweet or salty anything. But I don't have the metal taste in my mouth like some. My appetite…

ROLL CALL: who's ready for the weekend?!
OK, so, something is going on with my hormones. This may be TMI, but I can feel my ovaries slowly cranking back up. The evidence of this is my suddenly brightened mood, as though a veil has been lifted, and the abrupt decline of hot flashes. It's like, it happened in one day. Very weird, but welcome. Sooo, to celebrate:…

To the pimple heads-Pitt, Traci, tgf
I wear a cap liner from tlc wigs. Its not the panty hose cap, but made of a fabric that wicks away your sweat. So far, I don't have the rash and I've been wearing wigs through the day. I got it clearance 2 for $5.99. I'm glad I ordered it.

High grade DCIS with Micro invasion -- ER/PR negative // Her2 position // 2nd opinion rec'd @St. Jos
It's worst than we first thought. Met with Dr. Harness this a.m. at 8:00 a.m., my appointment lasted until 10:30 A.M. Dr. Harness not happy with the site of my lumpectomy, or the deformation of my left breast. size of tumor removed: 10.0 x 7.0 x 4.0 cm. Dr. H refused to discuss, but asked for my general surgeon's name and…

Has everyone had their breakfast yet?
I thought it would be interesting to hear what everyone ate when they didn't know they'd have to tell. You know like those 'come as you are' parties. The 'no taste' post got me thinking. I thought of what I'd like to taste. So yell at me if you will but here is my breakfast: Dr Pepper and 2 Sno Balls. :-O So what did y'all…

Rads question, or is it a femara one?
Hey, y'all! Hope today finds you in good spirits. I have a rads question. I have had eleven treatments so far: the area treated extends from the mid chest in front to mid spine in back. (I get seven days to one area, then five to the back, and so on until all 37 are done.) After my ninth treatment, my entire body quite…

A little funny
One Sunday the minister was preaching a sermom on temperance. He said to the congregation, If I had all the beer in the world I would pour it in the river. Then more loudly he said, If I had all the wine in the world I would pour it in the river. And finally he shouted, If I had all the whiskey in the world I would pour it…

Tendjewberrymud...
It's amazing, you will understand the above word by the end of the conversation... Read aloud for best results. Be warned, you're going to find yourself talking "funny" for a while after reading this. The following is a telephone exchange between a hotel guest and room-service at a hotel in Asia, which was recorded and…

I start chemo on Friday
I finally decided to do the chemo - but I figured they would put the port in before I had to do the actual chemo. WRONG! He wants to start ASAP - so I will have the IV in the arm on Friday and get the port on 11/16 in time for the 11/27 infusion. It's all kind of hit home today - it's really happening. I'm pretty nervous.…

Book for Children
In one of the wonderful emails I read, someone mentioned a book for children that explains cancer - and I am hoping - chemotherapy. It would be great for my 9-year old daughter. . .and since I work with kids from preschool-6th grade, I thought a book might help them understand what changes their "speech teacher" is going…
