Post-op visit update
Hi everybody, Thanks for all the support! I had my one week post-op visit yesterday. Didn't get the drains out and I have a lot of swelling. Seems like the drain stops draining and I fill up with fluid which creates a lot of pressure. I tried laying totally flat this morning and that seemed to get the drain working better.…

Skin biopsies yesterday
Hi everyone. I had a dermatology appointment yesterday and the doctor found two spots that he didn't like - one on my arm and one on my leg. I had biopsies done on both and will find out the results in a week or two. The funny thing (if it can be funny) is that my husband also had an appointment and the doctor found a spot…

New and Nervous
I have recently been diagnosed with Stage I breast cancer, thankfully with clean nodes. My doctor just told me he is submitting my cancer cells for a "Gene Profile Analysis," which will show whether or not I am a candidate for the pill Arimidex. If I am not, he suggests Taxotere and Cytoxan for my chemo -- 4 treatments…

My beautiful wife is gone
My wife was diagnosed in Oct. 2008 with stage III breast cancer. They said she was borderline stage IV so they wanted to put her thru chemo first, so that the lymphnodes would hopefully shrink. In June 2009 she went had a mastectomy, and shortly afterwards she started radiation treatments. She went back to the doctors on…

They look so lifelike you wouldn't believe it! They are in…

Surgeon called, surgery scheduled
I'm a mess. After weeks of waffling, I've decided to go ahead and have a prophylatic bi-lateral masectomy. Actually calling the surgeon proved to be one of the most difficult things I've ever done. After months of reading this board, listening to other sisters, reading more, praying, thinking, I think, for me, the best…

I have been so tight the entire expansion that I almost don't care what size I am, just want these foreign objects out. Anybody identify with me? Does anyone know what cc…

Pain where lump used to be
I just finished chemo and the lump is gone under my right arm, but I sometimes feel the pain like when it was there. It comes and goes but makes me worried that something is still there. I can't feel the lump at all anymore and thats encouraging. But feeling the same throbbing pain at times scares me. Has anyone else had…

Not looking forward to…

Breast cancer, bilateral mastectomies and Lupus
Hi everyone - I am brand new to the network. I was diagnosed in July 09 with breast cancer. Expected due to the high family incidence (mother, sister, 5 aunts). I underwent bilateral mastectomies, sentinel node biopsy and so far 4 of 6 chemo treatments. Chemo has not been unbearable but suffer more with the mastectomies…

scared and anxious
I'm new here. Microcalcifications were found upon routine annual mammo on 10/28/09. Biopsy 11/12, lumpectomy 12/7. Tiny, but sentinal node positive. Also, ER PR pos and (mildly) HER2 pos. Chemo onc ran Onco Dx test and felt that results (very low risk of reoccurance) didn't warrant chemo. I was both releived and terrified.…
