West Coast Fl ladies...
Having watched the Southern Cal ladies plan a Re-union, and seeing how excited they are getting about it, has me thinking - are there enough of us in this area to get together in the same way? I'm not far from Clearwater/St. Pete, which wouldn't be a bad spot for a centralized get-together for this side of the state if…

CONFIRMED
It is confirmed that there is suspicious cells in the spinal cord fluid. Oncologist will see my wife after her MRI of the brain and would like to treat her outpatient, but Lesley does not seem that she is going to be able to do that in her current status. I hope that once they flush her bowels out and get some more fluids…

Any Triple Negative People?
Hi, I am very new to all of this, just diagnosed in March so I don't even know the extent of my problems yet. I will have a bilateral mastectomy on May 7th with reconstruction at the same time. My MRI showed that it was isolated to the lump in my breast but since I am having to wait so long and it is steadily growing I…

The Perfect Husband...
Several men are in the locker room of a golf club. A cell phone on a bench rings and a man engages the hands free speaker-function and begins to talk. Everyone else in the room stops to listen. MAN: "Hello." WOMAN: "Honey, it's me. Are you at the club?" MAN: "Yes." WOMAN: "I am at the mall now and found this beautiful…

Today I'm being squished, slammed, and zapped....
ROFL! Time for my annual 'scanfest'....Mammogram and MRI for my breast cancer, MRI (maybe CT...the insurance is balking on the MRI) for my rectal cancer, DEXA scan for my chemo-induced osteoporosis! But then I'll be 'right as rain'! Wish me luck! Hugs, Kathi

Does it seem recurrence is more prevalent with
Maybe it's just me, but does it seem recurrence is more prevalent with some breast cancers and surgeries treatments then others? I have Inflammatory breast cancer. I read some place that recurrence is more likely to the brain with IBS. I also read that it is more likely to recur if only one breast is removed instead of…

Sleep, sweet sleep - AT LAST
Has this happened to anyone else? I had taxotere and carboplatine and during chemo, I experienced a lot of problems with my legs. They were very rubbery and heavy and the joints always hurt. Now it's been 3 months since i am done with that regime and am only using Herceptin. So since sunday I have joint problems. It…

If you are on zometa....
I printed out the info in the link below and printed it out for my dentist. He has agreed to put off any dental work that we can. I see the hygienist every 6 months religiously. Jaw necrosis is more common if you take zometa and have cancer and good oral hygiene is a must. Brush and floss frequently and use a mouthwash…

SOUTH JERSEY Radiation facility
Hello! Can someone recommend a reputable radiation facility in South Jersey? I was told that a physicians experience and calibration is important when making a decision where to go. I am having surgery at a top cancer hospital in NYC but too far to travel for 4 weeks to have radiation.

What A Week
It has been a week of ups and downs. Lots of finishes to chemo and radiation. Hooray for that. Some new NEDS. WHOO HOO let the dancing begin. But there has been many that have had not so good and down right bad news, others with upcoming tests that would scare the spots off a leopard. And that type of news always makes me…

Back From Kaua'i, But So Sad For Those Who Are Struggling.
My husband and I had a wonderful, relaxing, regenerating trip to Kaua'i. I've so missed all you pink angels. I hesitated to post today--feel guilty after reading all of the trials some of you are enduring. All I can offer are prayers, words of encouragement, hope and peace. Hugs, Renee

DOES IT EVER STOP????
Well, today was a really bad day. While at the ONC office today we discovered that my wife has not had a bowel movement since she does not know when. The ONC and RN agreed that an anti-nausea drip would not help and that the constipation along with the flu that my 2 boys had over the weekend was the reason for the vomiting…

My Rad Onc made my day
OK, so every Wed during radiation, I see my doc. He pulls up my name on his computer, and there are 7 other women in the system with my name. He picks one with a 1955 birthday, looks, then asks me for my birth date. When I told him (1947), he says "wow! you sure look young; I didn't think that the '47 was you" I pretended…
