Having a why me its not fair kinda day!
Ok so I am having one of those ITS NOT FAIR WHY ME days and I really wish I had an answer. If it werent for my 9 yr old I'd just stop all the meds and let be what will be. Back From Kaua'i, But So Sad For Those Who Are Struggling.
My husband and I had a wonderful, relaxing, regenerating trip to Kaua'i. I've so missed all you pink angels. I hesitated to post today--feel guilty after reading all of the trials some of you are enduring. All I can offer are prayers, words of encouragement, hope and peace. Hugs, Renee

DOES IT EVER STOP????
Well, today was a really bad day. While at the ONC office today we discovered that my wife has not had a bowel movement since she does not know when. The ONC and RN agreed that an anti-nausea drip would not help and that the constipation along with the flu that my 2 boys had over the weekend was the reason for the vomiting…

From a little ache to a sharp pain every now and then. Anyone else? Spoke to dr. he acted like "it's normal". But I'm worried about every…

Good morning sisters - last Thursday was my chemo #5 and my first of 2 cycles of Taxotere. Yesterday was crash day for both mom & I (it was her first AC infusion). My Rad Onc made my day
OK, so every Wed during radiation, I see my doc. He pulls up my name on his computer, and there are 7 other women in the system with my name. He picks one with a 1955 birthday, looks, then asks me for my birth date. When I told him (1947), he says "wow! you sure look young; I didn't think that the '47 was you" I pretended…

I am taking you all on a trip - who's with me?

You have all grown to be near and dear to my heart. So let's show the beast who's boss and let's take this trip and enjoy ourselves in spite of our…

Headaches a year after chemo?
I'm new to this site, but I'm hoping to get some info about side effects from chemo. I finished chemo a year ago, radiation 10 months ago and my PET scan was clean last Fall after surgery and chemo. I started having headaches first thing in the morning a few months ago, but it went away after a couple of weeks. Now I'm…

I finished my Chemo!
I am so happy that today was my last chemo infusion. Hoooorrayyyy!!!! I have completed 4 x AC and 12x Taxol/Herceptin. I still have to go every 3 wks for Herceptin to complete a year. Has anyone experience any side effects with just the herceptin alone? I have been doing fine with the Taxol/Herceptin combo so far. Thank…

Dancing with NED
I got my Ultrasound and mammogram reports this morning and I am very happy to be dancing with NED. They did find some scattered calcificatios and "post surgical changes" at the operative site that were deemed "benign" I wish they were not there at all but I was assured the changes were common and not unexpected. Anyone…

Send me Good Wishes for Tomorrow
Well, I am off for another Brain MRI tomorrow to see if they can find why I am still having so much pain in the left side of my face. This is a new group, and I am going to see a Neurosurgeon this time after the MRI. Cross your fingers that they at least can find what is causing the pain, and we can fix it. I will post…

BC and BC (Birth Control and Breast Cancer)
I was just at one of the horse sites I go to a lot. There were several young women writing about the birth control pills that pervent periods for several months at a time. I went through menopause in 1991 so haven't kept up with birth control methods since then. My questions have to do with rather or not there have been…

cancer and positive thinking! HA!
I have been listening to Barbara Ehrenriech on the radio talking about how positive thinking undermines America. I love the part where she says (once a cancer patient herself) the pressure on cancer patients to be positive because their very survival depends on it is way too much that even oncology nurses are speaking out…

I have Tamoxifen side effects; what's your opinion?
Well, crap. A positive outlook only sets you up for being let down. I struggled with the decision to take Tamoxifen and gave in with the thought (and suggestion fro the onc) that if I didn't like it, I could stop taking it. Immediately after beginning it (Nov. '09) my normal menopause hot flashes ramped up their intesity…

Anyone experienced this?
For the past several weeks I have had pain in my lower left abdomen, just about over the pelvic bone--not in the joint. It is approximately an area of 4 inches from my waist down. It is worse when I get up from sitting; sometimes very bad until I take several steps. I tried a heating pad, but it didn't make any difference.…

Fallen Warrior Remembered
Today I lost a very dear friend to cancer. She died this morning at the hospital with family and friends at her bedside. Her name was ZENA and she was EXCEPTIONAL! She was loved by doctors, nurses, and patients alike! I met her at the chemo clinic and was automatically drawn to her unfaltering, sunny disposition. Back in…

I Did It - Walked the Susan G. Komen 5K Today!
I've done this walk in Baltimore for the last 8 years. However, this was my first walk as a survivor!!!! It was kind of emotional. Usually, it is just my sister & I that walk every year. Two years, my son and daughter-in-law walked with us. This year my husband, my youngest son and his fiance, my two sisters, two…
