Just for fun. What do you find binge worthy ?
I'm scheduled for surgery this week so I know I will have at least a week at home recovering. I can't stand daytime television and if I watch a news channel I just get depressed. I'd love to get some suggestions on television shows, or movies to watch while I'm at home. So my dear pinks , What do you find binge worthy?…

Not Sure Where To Turn
Hello everyone, not even sure this is appropriate or the right thing to do but I am totally unsure what to do. I am 39 and will be 40 in about 3 1/2 weeks. Because of this mammograms are not covered and I am having a difficult time finding on in the surrounding area for a reduced cost (perhaps even free). This didn't…

High cholesterol/aromatase inhibitor connection?
Has anyone experienced a spike in cholesterol readings after starting Armidex or Femara? My LDL was 159 in December. I resisted going on meds and was faithful to eating low fat diet and increasing movement. Now my level jumped to 178! I am still not ready to add yet another drug into the mix, but I will take my PCP's…

Tissue Expanders
I'm new to this so please bear with me... I know that tissue expanders are only meant to stretch the skin/muscle and in no way touted to look like natural breast. But, with that said, will there be more projection as there are more fills? I had my BMX 2/17 and expanders placed 5/17 (200ccs at time of surgery). I've had…

How do they know if HER2+ is gone
How do Dr.s' know that the HER2+ is gone after all treatments? Do they do scans or biopsy on tissue? These are some of the questions I will be asking my oncologist today. They know Herceptin targets the HER2+ but how do they really know it is gone or in remission. If anyone has asked the answer to their oncologist I would…

Hello, friends Tomorrow I am having a mammogram and ultrasound 11 months post radiation treatment. Didn't think I would worry, but then . . .
I finished treatment (chemo, surgery, radiation) in July and had my survivorship plan meeting in October. Tuesday I am going for a Dexascan (now on AI), and first mammogram since treatment. After the survivorship plan was positive, I thought going for tests would not affect me. Right now it's all I can think about. I have…

Tissue expander and redness but cultures all show no infection
Last year I have my right breast removed and a tissue expander put in at the same time. All went well until a few weeks before I was scheduled to have the expander removed and the actual implant inserted. I developed redness on the lower side of my breast. My breast was warm to the touch, but I had no fever nor did I have…

My Biopsy results
Hi everyone: Hap I'd seen on another post where you asked what the results were and I'm sorry I'd not posted earlier. I'm glad to report that it came back negative and thank you for prayers. I've been going through a stressful situation since the results because my breast (especially the nipple) was not getting circulation…

A bit of good news!!
Sharing a bit of good news: I had a PET scan and they saw something "suspicious" on my thyroid. I prayed all weekend (others prayed for me as well) that the cancer didn't spread and it hasn't!!!! The nodules are benign. This is the happiest I've been since I was diagnosed with this nasty disease. Have a great 4th everyone.

Weight Gain On Arimidex
I am starting arimidex in a few days. I have heard alot of women gaining alot of weight. I am already overweight and cannot stand the thought of gaining more. Does Arimidex make you have an appetite where you stay hungry and want to eat all the time or does it just make you gain weight automaticly, (spelled wrong). I would…

Nerve Pain
I am wondering if somebody can comment about nerve pain after surgery and radiation. My BS told me that the nerve pain occurred because they had to cut a main nerve during surgery, as the tumor had invaded the nerve. She said the pain comes as the nerve regrows. The nerve pain started with surgery, stopped about two weeks…

Stage 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma at age 42
This just doesn't seem real. I am 42 years old (okay, 43 in a few weeks). I had a 3D mammogram in January and it was fine. I found a lump in May and the last month has been a whirlwind. I was diagnosed with grade 3 invasive ductal carcinoma, ER & PR positive, HER2 negative. At first the doctor said stage 1, no lymph nodes,…

Managing Drains
I was dx this month with invasive lobular BCA. Will have double masectomy in March with reconstrution and saline implants to start, silicone 6 weeks later. Would appreciate thoughts on how to best manage drains after surgery. Buying special drain-holding clothing to use only a couple of weeks seems silly to me, but if they…

Is being under house arrest normal?
I am the first one in my family to have cancer. We don't know anything about it or chemo. I've had chemo twice now, and I'm scheduled to go in again tomorrow for my third bout of chemo. Since starting chemo I'm either hospitalized, in the ICU, in a clean or else at my apartment with someone checking in on me 24/7. But from…

How far do you go for treatment
Hi. I know we come from all parts of the country and I am trying to decide whether to get a doctor closer to home than an hour and a half away. How far do you go for your treatment in miles? I know it would be easier for family to have treatments at a local, but less than reputable, hospital.
