He has had an illiostomy (hope spelling is right!) for 40 years. Understandably he is quite nervous and anxious about life with 2 stomas and bags. He asked me if I…

Hello all, I am new here, and from the UK. I am desperately worried about my Grandfather, who is 78. BC with Neo-Bladder
I am having much trouble regulating my BM's 18 days post-op. If I take the Stool Softener that was prescribed (Surfak), it causes me to have explosive diarrhea that can last for 3 hours and wipes me out. After 3 days of this, I called my urologist and he prescribed Lomotil. I only took one dose of this and then no Surfak…

Dad just diagnosed....
My Dad had a mass removed on Wednesday. Today he went back to see the doctor and was told he has stage 3 cancer and to come back in 2 months for a recheck. He was also told they may have to "pump" some chemo into his bladder at that time. I don't understand how they could have given him a stage if they didn't remove any…

Incontinence Issues
My husband was diagnosed with T2a N0M0 bladder cancer in January, and he had RC Neobladder Surgery at IU Medical Center on March 31, 2009. (That hospital was a great experience, by the way.) They used the DaVinci Robot, so his recovery time was five days in the hospital, which was great. The pathology report came back just…

BCG vs Neobladder
I am 55, male, and recently was diagnosed with BC - Stage 1 Grade 3 tumor, removed recently. My doctor is leaning towards bcg treatments and close monitoring, but my concern is the % of tumors that seem to be understaged at diagnosis, and the time lost if bcg doesn't work and the tumor comes back. The bladder removal…

Russ, as my Dr. told me..age and activity have alot to do w/ your decision. I'm 47 and still have a very active life style.
