after surgery - providing emotional support

My sister-in-law recently had her bladder removed, and she has an excellent prognosis. We know she has a lot to adjust to. It has been 3 months since the surgery, and we don't know how to provide the emotional support she needs now. She seems sad more often now, post surgery, than she was during treatment or right afterwards. She doesn't think a support group will help, so we're not sure what to offer to be supportive. We appreciate any suggestions you can offer.
Peace,
Mark

Support Group
Mark, a support group is not for everybody. Personally, I never felt the urge to join a support group. For many reasons, have had all the support I need @ home and @ work. I joined this site yesterday because a friend told me about it. I was very curious so I joined. If your sister-n-law is feeling down, I don't think she would want to read other people's problems.
I would not push her, give her time to deal with it. She is the one feeling all the strange emotions, saddness and depression. Continue talking to her about her excellent prognosis and let her know how lucky all of you are to have her in your lifes.
Nobody can truly understand how we felt and are feeling, you can only be there for her. Bad and good times.
She is also very lucky to have you in her life.
Take care Mark
