post radical nephrectomy developed a flank bulge
My husband had a radical nephrectomy from Stage 1 kidney cancer this past August. He almost immediately started developing a huge bulge - NOT a hernia. After a CT scan in October it was determined he has a denervation, flank bulge due to the nerves not regenerating from the flank incision. The muscle wall has thinned out…

Biopsy without any bleeding
I'm not complaining, just curious. Had transrectal targeted biopsy (5 sites) with no blood in urine or semen. After all I've read about blood lasting for weeks, has anyone not experienced much bleeding? A pre-cancerous HG_PIN neoplasia was found. So cancer free for now!

Nerve pain
I had segmendectomy 3 weeks ago. I started to have side pain on my right side that I had the surgery. The surgeon said this is due to intercostal nerve being affected. He said to give it another month and if it persists he would start me on gabapentin, which I don’t want to start. Anyone out there have a similar situation…

SRT after RALP - Centering CTscan execution
Good morning, I just had a centering CT scan because I have to undergo SRT (I had a robotic radical prostatectomy in 2019, and the PSA slowly rose to values around 0.200-0.250). The preparation for the centering CT scan included a full bladder and an empty rectum. Everything was OK for the rectum, but, probably having…

Serous Endometrial Carcinoma ("high-grade"), now metastasized to lungs
Hello - Introducing myself here. The topic title summarizes it. I was diagnosed in December 2022 and January 2023, had to wait 6 weeks for a 'radical' hysterectomy while in pain and bleeding profusely (because of health insurance!), then spent 2023 in chemotherapy and radiation, and recovering from their side effects. Last…

Has anyone had colo-anal anastomosis surgery and a colostomy reversal?
I needed a colostomy for my anal cancer because of a fistula between my vagina and rectum. Now that my treatments are over and the cancer is gone, my colorectal surgeon believes she can reverse the colostomy. I will get a temporary ileostomy and she will do a colo-anal anastomosis at the same time, then after 2 months, she…

Fever possibly delaying resumption of chemo?
My mother in law is a sixty-six-year-old woman who was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma last November. More than 95% of it was removed via surgery, the tumor is methylated, and she tolerated her initial treatment (six weeks of simultaneous radiation and temodar) well. Live from The Blue Room!
One of the notebooks I brought to the infusion center was my SNL skit writing notebook. The skit I was working on took place in the infusion waiting room, (*ours was called the blue room, because it had exclusively blue chairs). In the blue, blue room (the walls were also blue), every 2 weeks, I wrote down 100s of…
