Papillary thyroid CA. Enlarged tongue
I will have surgery next week because I have thyroid cancer. My tongue feels too large for my mouth. I actually have to curl it behind my lower teeth to avoid protrusion and it causes difficulty swallowing. Is this part of the thyroid cancer or should I be looking into other causes?

Newly discovered nodules
I had a partial thyroidectomy way back in 1992 at the ripe old age of 28. I was told it was late stage I/early stage II and probably would never have further issues with it, which is pretty much true, I think. I had an MRI on the neck and shoulder two weeks ago at my urging since I've been having a LOT of pain that has…

Papillary Tyroid Cancer, without any symptoms, must I have surgery?
Hi, I'm 39. I was told that I had Papillary Thyroid Cancer last week. It was found by the examination (X-ray) before my ovarian surgery 3 weeks ago. Strangely I don't feel any pain or something unsual around my neck. The doctor told me I had to get Total Thyroidectomy and I would have to live with breathing tube in my neck…

Once TSH levels return to normal, how long do symptoms persist?
Hi All, I don't have thyroid cancer, but have survived stage III melanoma (2003), stage III NSLC lung cancer (2008). Last November I was diagnosed with stage IV esophageal cancer. I am being treated for that now. Initially my oncologist ruled out any radiation for the EC because I had received max doses in the neck and…

Hi everyone. It's been awhile since I posted anything but now I'm having more issues! I had RAI about 5 1/2 months ago and my salivary glands hurt SO bad! This just started a week ago. My Endo looked surprised and said it couldn't be because of the radiation and to just take some Advil. Of course whenever something is…

My mother is actually my topic of concern. She was diagnosed a few years ago with thyroid cancer. We took out her thyroid and she underwent the iodine treatment. Cancer markers have been good since, but three months ago, she suffered a bowel perforation as a complication from a spinal fusion surgery. She was septic for two…
