Thyroid Nodule Biopsy today!
So one year and a half ago my doctor noticed my neck was swollen had an ultrasound ordered and noticed tiny nodules just mm in size. I saw a new Endocrinologist who looked over my past Ultrasounds, one taken again in September of 2013 and one prior to that in June 2013. I saw her in December 2013 so she ordered a check-up ultrasound at the end of May 2014. Well I went in and got my Ultrasound done. So I was called into the office on June 3rd, 2014 and she wanted to do her own Ultrasound because the report didn't give her enough information of what she needed.
Well she didn't like what she saw, the same nodule I have had for a long time doubled in size in six months. It went from 6mm to 1.5 CM. She did the Biopsy of just that single nodule today and found it's not cystic at all, it's completly solid! She told me she didn't draw any fluid with the four different needles she used (tiny ouch!) it wasn't as bad as I thought the Biopsy itself. Now I just wait for the pathology report in five days from now.
The waiting is the hard part!
