Humbly Asking for Guidance - Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma
On March, 24th, I sat with my dad at his oncologist's office. My dad sat in the patient's chair, and I sat next to him on a cold steel chair. My hands were sweaty and clammy...I was anxious, nervous, hopeful, scared, but all I could do was look back at my dad and ask, "Are you okay?" My dad was like always, calm & cool,…

Does Folfirinox works and how to deal with the side effects
My husband was diagnosed with PC late last year, he had a central pancreatectomy to removed all the tumors. However had some positive margins on the splenic vein. Now the oncologist put him on the Folfirinox regimen. He had 2 cycles, but each one worst than the other. His stomach is growling non-stop, unable to eat for a…

Folfirinox failed to shrink my tumor
I had a scan on the 23rd after 2 months on Folfirinox and the tumor scarcely shrank--while inching closer to encasing the mesenteric vein. My oncologist did not give me my 5th Folfirinox on Monday but switches me to Gemcitabine/Abraxane tomorrow. My question is, why would Folfirinox not work? Did anyone else have that…

Hi - My mom, age 83, was diagnosed with Stage 1B pancreatic cancer in May 2021. She decided to not have the Whipple surgery because her COPD (non-smoker) is a complication. She is still in Stage 1B. Enzymes
How long do you have to take enzymes before they begin to work? My husband is several years out from his Whipple procedure. He did well with the surgery and chemo. However recently he has been getting stomach cramps and diarrhea. He called the doctor and they started him on enzymes. he no longer has cramping but the…

No whipple
I would suggest against Whipple. Once you allow surgery in the organ area it can spread quicker and the cells may divide faster. Whipple also causes great hardship in absorbing any calories much needed. My friend did great until surgery then basically his disease accelerated and he could not recover.
