I am still nervous every three months even after all of these years. As the time nears, I suddenly start feeling sick. I feel nauseated, bloated, fatigued, etc...I know these are more…

Stuff I don't need to hear
I got a call from my sister the other day. The first thing she wanted to tell me was about someone who healed their cancer with their mind. The second thing she wanted to say was "I think you are obsessed with your cancer--that's all you ever think about." I had to end the phone call right there--I don't need to hear that…

Even if the news is not terrible there is no way to share it with my family without freaking them out ! I just got my ct/pet scan result in the mail and I only understand half of it but know enough to know there is progression and will need further treatment. I just want someone to lie to me and tell me it will be alright,…

Ovarian cancer and brain metastases
The mechanisms by which primary tumors produce brain metastases is thought to be hematogenous (blood) spread from primary or secondary sites in the lung. Since the brain has no lymphatic system, all tumors metastasizing to the brain do so by spreading through the bloodstream. Arterial blood passes through the lungs before…

Weird rash
Last night I noticed that I was scratching my but, my neck and my torso a lot. Then, it occured to me that there might be a rash there (DUH!). When I looked in the mirror I saw this weird bumpy rash where I was scratching. I decided not to worry about it, and went to bed, hoping that it would go away. This morning, the but…

I posted on the uterine board, but I would like to share this on the ovarian board also. I have UPSC 4B or OVCA 3C: ambiguous origin. The treatment is same and the prognosis is about the same too. I'm so incredibly grateful.
I had my first CA 125 test early last week, the first since my last chemo in July. I had been at 6 since my debulking surgery on May 5. For the last 2 months I've had a sore throat which was finally diagnosed 2 weeks ago as oral herpes! If my immune system couldn't ward off herpes, how could it stave off cancer? It takes a…

Good news....I think. At least it's not bad news.
Just got home from my appointment with my friendly, local gyn/onc. We can't tap the fluid and test it because it's trapped in the hernia sac and they can't go thru the mesh with the needle they use for paracentesis. On the other hand, because it IS inthe hernai sac, and nowhere else, it might be totally unrelated to Cancer…

For the past several months, my CA-125s have stayed steady at around 78. I had become resigned to thinking that chemo was at least…

Platelets still WAY low
I am scheduled for my last big treatment next week (25th) However, today my platelets are still only at 35. He gave me the 5th treatment 3 weeks ago today at 74. I'm wondering if that's why they're so low. I'm just discouraged. I want to get this over with and try to pick up the pieces and move on with my life! Carla
