Dear Friends, my mother's 14 year battle with Stage 3C Ovarian Cancer (which she valiently fought), has ended today. At 1:15 this afternoon, my beautiful mother (Sandra Goodman of Enfield, CT) passed away.
She was a strong advocate for Ovarian Cancer Awareness. She helped plan and participated in Survivors Day, and walked in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. She wrote articles for Conversations, the International Newsletter for Those Fighting Ovarian Cancer. She was interviewed for a segment called Beyond the Headlines on Fox 61 News. She helped comfort many people who shared this disease or had a friend or loved one with Ovarian Cancer. When she couldn't sleep, she'd bake for the girls at the doctor's offices she frequented.
She was married to my father, Fred for 51 years. A real love story. He was her rock...going to every appn't, and spending every moment by her side. Everyone who knew her loved her.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers...they helped me so much. I want to wish all of you the very best with your continuing struggles. God bless you all. I hope and pray the cure is found soon.
