Mopar, how are you?
Hi there everyone. Monika, did you see your doctor on Friday? What all did he say? I bet he is happy about your number being 8, and your Cat Scans showing clear. How are you feeling. I'm so excited for you - your last chemo on the 19th! I have my fifth on the 28th. I'm a little behind you. My last CA-125 after the 3rd…

UPDATE
Chemo #6 (FINAL!) is scheduled for 7-19 (our 31st wedding anniversary!). It's still rough for about 8 days after the treatment. I still have the loss of taste, funny sensation in my mouth for 3 weeks after treatment. But I'm no longer anemic thanks to 4 Procrit shots and my continued use of iron supplements. That really…

Taxotere
I posted a message here a while back about a carboplatin sensitivity reaction. My medical oncologist switched my chemo to taxotere and that seemed to go well for the first treatment anyway. I won't have my second until early July. This was "cleanup" and consolidation chemo after a second occurence of Ovarian. I have…

possible new cancer
Went to the Dr. today about the spot on my lung. He said the only thing to do is to watch it and have the CT repeated in three months. He does not feel it is cancer of the lung because six and a half years have gone by. He wasn't that concerned. So I will keep doing what I have for 6 1/2 years with my Faith.Family and…

I am at 25
I just had to share with you that I think we've found a combination the cancer doesnt' like. My tumor markers are down to 25 in just 8 weeks. The Avastin/Cytoxan combination is definitely doing something. I will continue getting this for another 4 months and then get a CT Scan. Who would have thought after having the talk…

Jan Q no luck with email
so I'll try here to answer- Are you able to get a PET scan? Hi Jan, This is the only way I know of to get the details on location, how much it may have grown, etc. CT scan doesn't always tell the whole story. To answer the question of pain, I have it back in 3 places, the abdomen is barely tender, but the liver causes pain…

Hi everyone! I went for my lab work today, just got home, and got a telephone call from my doctor's nurse. I'm suppose to have my third Taxotere/Carbo chemo next…

Hernia surgery
Hi Bonnie. I just read your message about having had hernia surgery. I had hernia surgery in January. They said I had one hernia from all of my cat scans, but when they did the surgery, I had FIVE! They were incisional hernias, and they had to use pig's gut for the closure! I'm left with a strange looking "bundle" in the…

TAXOTERE SIDE AFFECTS
Hello to all. Just want to get a feel for Taxotere side affects that any of you have experienced. Had my first session last week (had to switch from Taxol due to allergic reaction). CSRA's
Elizabeth Panke, a Cincinnati pathologist who five years ago was diagnosed with an aggressive form of ovarian cancer. The standard treatment, a course of the drugs carboplatin and taxol, failed to stop the cancer. TAXOTERE FOR SURE
Well, I saw my doctor on Friday and he is definitely switching me to Taxotere. He explained 'some' of the possible side affects, including the edema (swelling), so I will be taking Decadron for a total of 3 days instead of one. I also told him about the upper abdominal 'burning' I have after chemo, and the feeling of a…
