I had one month to go until my 5 year survivor!

I just found out this Easter that my cancer is back. I've been thru 4 surgeries in the same scar where they did the surgery to remove my ovaries. They now have to cut the same area again. I know my body is weak and I'm so scared I'm not going to make it this time. I put on a happy face and strong attitude for my friends and family but I'm really scared. Everyone keeps telling me to be positive and that I made it before and I can make it again. I'm just not sure I can.... I'm writing down the things I want taken care of in case I don't. I don't know if it's legally binding or not but I just need my family to know my wishes. I don't know how to approach them to let them know the letters are there if something were to happen to me.

Fear
Dear Lori, FEAR is False Expectations Appearing Real!!!! Though I do not doubt that you are feeling weak with this set back, you can not possibly know that you are in danger this time. God doesn't let us know ahead of time, though we sometimes think we can imagine it. We are a strong group of women in this fight together and thank goodness you found us. As any questions and we will support you, pray for you, and join our energy to yours in your fight. You are not alone!!! (((Hugs))) Saundra0 -
((((Lori))))) About your preparatory letters...
I, too, believe that you will survive this surgery as you have survived before. But, like you, I have tidied up my affairs and take some comfort in knowing that my wishes are in writing as to the disposal of my things and the succession of the little company I run. If you have a neighbor that you trust, you may want to have them witness your signature on your informal 'will' and sign the document. You could then leave it with your neighbor to give to your immediate family should something happen. That way you can avoid the drama or added worry of sharing it with your family now. I hope that you will pop back in after your surgery and tell us that you are fine and laugh about your precautions. Try not to be afraid or despair. Cancer treatment has come a long long way in the last 5 years. ((((BIG BIG gentle HUGS))), and I will add you to my prayers.0 -
One month to go
Lori,
I too will add you in my prayers...... We teal warriors just keep doing what we have to do. It is good advice to have your wishes witnessed by someone and then leave with someone you trust.....you will feel better knowing it is all taken care of....just in case.....that way you can concentrate on getting through the surgery and getting well.
I had a trust done by an attorney and my family knows that I had it done but not what is in it. They know where to find it and it spells everything out for them. It made me feel alot better knowing it was done and I could forget about it.
It is very normal to be scared......I get scared all the time but....FEAR is False Expectations Appearing Real!.

So Sorry
Lori - I am so sorry to hear your news. I can only imagine what you are going through. The fear is real, you know that, but until they get done with surgery you won't really know all the details. While you are writing down the things you would like done and getting your thoughts in order maybe you can also take time and look around at all the wonder the world has to hold and take time to enjoy it.
I will keep you close in my thoughts and look forward to reading your posts. Come here often and vent like there is no tomorrow, okay? We will help hold you up Lori. Leave your fear here with us.
Take care and I'm sending you hugs.
