CT's are all clear
Hi ladies, I am relieved to find out all my CT's are clear (lung, pelvic and bone). My CA125 is still at 132, so obviously, there are tumors lurking. My doc says that if they were to take a PET, they would show up, but he doesn't see any point in doing that unless I plan on doing surgery. I have mixed feelings, I really…

Navalbine
I was diagnosed Stage 3C in January 2007. Had the usual aggressive surgery and then IP/IV cisplatin and taxol. I had an 11 month remission and have been on several chemo regimens since. Most recently I did well on Topotecan for about 8 months. It suddenly stopped working which is maybe just as well because by that time I…

Neuropathy
Finished 6 rounds of Gemzar/cysplatin followed by 2 treatments of Gemzar/carboplatin. The neuropathy in my fingers, toes and part of my feet is awful. Taking a medication to help but so far has done nothing. I see the doctor next week and hope we can increase my med. Also have a CT scan this Friday to see how I have fared.…

ORIGINAL CA-125 WAS 5200 - Dropped by 200 after first round of chemo
My Mom was recently diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer for the 2nd time in 29 years. Her CA-125 started at 5200. After her first round of weekly chemo, her CA-125 dropped by 200 to 5000. We've been told by the Dr. that is a significant drop (and we are so thankful for every point dropped). From all of your experiences, does…

After first Doxil ca125 jumped
I know I read here in the past about Doxil and ca125. I guess I am looking for reassurance. Before starting Doxil my ca125 was 15. Normal I know but I had a positive biopsy on my colon. 3 wks after my first dose my ca125 jumped to 30. Now it was drawn at a different lab so I will take that into consideration but I'm not…

Post Op News
Hi all! Post Op news: staples and catheter come out tomorrow! My husband bought me an expensive bottle of wine so we can celebrate this weekend! Question: My surgeon said he was able to remove 95% of the cancer and that chemo would take care of the rest. Do i really want to know about the remaining 5%? Is this the norm?…

Craptastic day
So I've been sick since April 2009 and still have a tumor. I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever be in remission. Today I had a break down and cried because I'm sick of being sick. I think it's just starting to sink in that I'll never be 'normal' again. I've been in denial. This sucks and I HATE CANCER!!!! I feel like a…

Signed on for another year...
I had my last session of the inital chemo yesterday (Carbo/Taxol). My doctor and I talked and we are scheduling a CT scan and pelvic exam. If those look good (and he thinks they will), I have agreed to do a year of monthly Taxol treatments (reduced dosage). He says this is not part of my "scheduled treatment", nor is it…

Neulasta shot
Have any of you heard from your docs that neulasta is possibly a carcinogen? My sister was going to get her first shot last week until the doc told her that it can cause cancer! That was choice one, the other choice was a blood transfusion. My sister's opting for the transfusion. This all sounds scary for her and for all…

Thought I'd post my latest news. I am about half way through my treatment. I've had a CT scan and just received my 4th infusion of carbo/taxol. My CT scan shows that the thickening of my peritoneum has reduced (maybe you know it better as the omentum)and my left lung is still fluid free (which is fantastic news for me) My…

No chemo next week
I saw my oncologist and he agreed that we should postpone the scheduled chemo next week. He now thinks that I should not have had the treatment earlier this month. He said "go on the cruise, as scheduled and have a good time". My CA125 stayed at 158 as it was in Dec. and we both suspect that it is the bowel diverticulitis…
